The Defense, the Turnovers, and the Redzone Offense

coming out of college, i cant tell the difference between a great oline man vs a bad if they arent getting beat…. However, in nfl, its very clear who is bad.. with that being said… how were you guys so optimistic about our oline this year when it was clearly bad last season? I know 90% of it is team basis but dam, they were bad last year so idk how people expected it to change.

Wow , just horrific :

Ravens Pass Blocking Grades in CLE per
@PFF
Lindy 78.1 Vorhees 75.7 Rosey 57.5 Stanley 33.9 Faalele 23.2

Stanley was almost as bad as Falafel.

It wasn’t this bad

OL was more than serviceable last year. I think they faltered at the worst possible moment of course, but that was a fairly good unit in the back 50-75% of the season.

Saw it against the Eagles last year and said there is no way we could compete in the playoffs if we are going to get handled like that.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but not punching it in against the Bills at the end of the half after that bomb to Bate at the 2 was shocking. Whether it's the O-line and/or Monken. We have freaking Lamar and Henry and could not do it.

The fade route to Stanley wasn’t there !

I don't disagree, but would also say not many have trenches like Philly. They've made such good personnel decisions. They've become the standard in a weird way, because they have their struggles but they're still getting Ws because they have high quality players where it matters most.

Bills and Chiefs have defensive lines that give the Ravens fits. They aren't the Eagles but they are good in their own way. The only way to the super bowl was going to be facing one or two of those teams. The O-line gets handles by those teams in these games situationally.

At this point the only thing we really have going for us is an underdog mentality going into the playoffs, presuming we keep ascending to the playoffs from 1-5

I like the scrappy mentality too....I just so concerned with those guys up front and how much longer Lamar can do this every week. Someone needs to help him. The game plan should be to get the ball out quickly to our speed guys.

For crying out loud, Zay is one hell of a route runner thanks to how twitchy he is and we don't really utilize him underneath the way we should in my opinion.

I get it. It's hard to say we're automatically going to get better just by shifting around some deck chairs, but this long of a period of sustained poor play...
Normally, I'd be on the side of agreeing entirely, but the offensive line makes me wary due to the need to protect Lamar. If the ramifications of poor play weren't potential injuries to Lamar, I'd be clamoring for this so fast.

I think this Sunday will be a nice pretty win for the offense, will be nice to be above 500

My thing with this is that I just don't see the adjustments to get the ball out faster considering the state of the line. They still try to set up PA with long will dropping Lamar all the way back.

It just doesn't make sense. He is hurt and has been playing hurt. Are we going to help him? Where is the coaching to say hey do this and this if something is happening. What are John and Monken there for? If you feel like he is holding the ball to long at times (he has) then coach him up.

He’s already on the verge of death. How much worse can it get?

i just seen like 10 vids our guards play and omg lmao! Watching it live and the replays, you can tell that theyre ass but i just seen i guess fans pointing out specific plays and i did not know our guys were consistently getting spun around and falling to the ground that much lol. Its no way any one with eyes can call those guys anything except for below avg. there is no turning that kinda play around mid season. There almost has to be guys in free agency that is better than them 2! We couldve gave up some 9th rnd picks before trade deadline and got better guard play.

That RPO slant to Zay should be called at least once a game
