The Defense, the Turnovers, and the Redzone Offense

Another lesson that progress isn't always linear

Mike Green struggled as a pass rusher in this game

on the plus side... come on down Trenton Simpson lol - where did that come from? 3 wins on 4 rushes lol

Simpson might be super low key the guy keeping Lawson on the PS. How many snaps is he getting outside?

At this point the only thing we really have going for us is an underdog mentality going into the playoffs, presuming we keep ascending to the playoffs from 1-5

Well...Lamar and an ascending defense with the best defensive back in football isn't canned spinach. it's a damn good team with one glaring weakness. Heck we aren't even talking about the pass rush anymore, that's been fixed.

I wouldn’t say it’s been fixed just yet, but they are turning a corner and it’s nice to see it manifest for sure

OL was more than serviceable last year. I think they faltered at the worst possible moment of course, but that was a fairly good unit in the back 50-75% of the season.

Stanley playing through injuries
Vorhees downgrade from Mekari (although he's been better than the lowlights from earlier in the season)
Linderbaum slump
Faalele regression from 2024
RR sophomore slump

you could argue we're getting worse play on an individual basis from every single position on the OL this year
in most cases, it's inconsistent play which makes it so much harder to manage the losses when they happen

I remember RR playing pretty decent last few games while faalele just always looked bad to me. Regardless, going to the offseason we all knew we needed oline help. Stanley has been up down cause of injuries and i feel like its tough on tyler since he has the worst guards in football on both sides of him. This gonna be a long season! If we make playoffs, i hope we get the bills first rnd. hopefully patriots can knock out kc and we actually may have a shot

No disagreement, but our OL group is largely the same rotation that has dealt with these teams before. WE need to be better. CAN we? That's the real question.

Faalele hasn't always been the focus of weakness. The Bell Weather games are Pitt and NE. We need to carry 2/3 of them in whatever math you do.

You know what’s great is the Steelers had a 4 game division lead against the Ravens and are going to give it away as the Ravens are catching up fast lol.
