The Refs, the Special Teams, and the Mistakes

No one except Hollywood showed up that game.

And that 19 team played way above its talent level

the most annoying thing about hollywood was that he was fine
but he and lamar had a great connection and he consistently showed up for lamar in the playoffs even when no one else did

zay's a better all-round receiver who gives us more options elsewhere especially after the catch but i still think hollywood was special on those gos/posts and deep comebacks/digs in a way that zay hasn't been

Everyone brings up 19. The season we'll look back on if we never win a SB with Lamar is 23. That's the real choke job and defining "Ravens" game if you ask me

especially because they had so many opportunities to comeback and didnt
2024 bills loss was similar - they actually did enough to comeback and choked it away

2019 they were an untested freight train throughout the regular season but only had one way to win and were completely off the boil that game

but 2023 and 2024 were games the ravens shot themselves in the foot, then still had the ability to fight their way back in, and then still found ways to lose in the most ridiculous ways possible (fumbles!!!!!)

Yes his weapons were bad but they were also good enough to dominate some of those same teams in regular season and others! We were atleast good enough to make SB but fell really really short! Fast forward to 2025 playoffs and the same mistakes are happening! Holding the ball with one hand while being sacked knowing its slippery and rainy out is just something you gotta be aware of. I feel like we have that team that cant do it by themselves! We dont have a ray lewis, ed reed, suggs nor anquan and all the other guys anymore for us to be mentally tough and well disciplined, therefore we gonna need lots of help from coaching…. and so far we just havent had that.

We don’t have a single guy on our offense that can do what Anquan did. He stepped up time and time again in the playoffs. Sure handed and caught UGLY ones when Joe threw it up praying.

Our All-Pro TE can’t do any of that

What im saying is that thats no excuse on why their defense is better than ours. They only drafted two defensive guys in the first rnd in the past 5yrs while we drafted 1 in the first dam near every year. Would we trade willie and stingley for all those guys we drafted without ever seeing them play? No! they either have better coaching or better players and its for sure better coaching because we looked great with macdonald
For me, it's kind of irrelevant though. I'd rather have their players and their coaches on D. And I'd much, much, much rather have our players and our coaches on offense.
I've not yet see anybody dispute the fact that Demeco Ryans is a better DC than Orr.

Bolden also dropped a big one in the Steeler playoff game

100% agree. I don't think we would have won the bowl last year... but we should have made an appearance.

I'm a weird fan in this aspect though. I'd rather lose in the championship game than Bowl if the record is clean prior.

I have mixed emotions about him because I love the dude. Easily our best TE ever. I'd rather go to war with Pitta man
one of the biggest plays of the post season run was the Pitta 3rd and long in OT vs the Broncos. Felt like Pitta came down with everything

Vrabel as our coach I think we have a better playoff record with same personnel. I sure as hell don't think we lose to the Chiefs.

Its possible I guess . Just don't see how Vrabel makes a dfference in the ravens playoff losses. Some of their losses included down passes or either due to Lamar not playing in the game or wasn't able to finish the game. I just don't see how Vrabel coaching style is suppose to make such a significant difference. Hes a good coach though but I definitely think John Harbaugh is underrated but it is what it is .

Dude I was just thinking that if pitta never hurt his hip, he lowkey could still have been playing at least the few previous years. Although he was Mormon and did a mission so he was a bit older with less wear and tear

This was the real brilliance of the Patriots “do your job” mantra. Nobody on those teams ever tried to be the hero, nobody tried to extend anything, it was just a cold calculating “everyone doing what the were assigned to do” for 60 minutes.

We have it so in our heads that we need to be superheroes that everyone tries to get 100% out of every play leading to mistakes

You mean fumble. LOL

I'd like to retract my Mark Andrews blame on that last play where it looked like Lamar was throwing to Hopkins. I now think that is on Lamar. Sorry Mark. Hopkins was opening and waiting, even waving and Lamar didn't hit him. He didn't get it out fast enough, which sort of seems to be an issue with him along with consistent accuracy this year. We always hear the ball needs to come out quick. Take another look at that play and tell me what you think.
