The Refs, the Special Teams, and the Mistakes

I’ve taken some time to reflect and here are a few thoughts

1. Likely is a problem. The guy is constantly on the wrong end of game changing plays. This time it’s “The Third Leg”, last week it was the “1-yard Fumble in the EZ”. The guy is a problem. He’s likely in his own head trying to show out to get that contract
2. Big players not playing big. Humphrey looks like a bum and he should retire to focus on his podcasts. He can join The Kelces.
3. Terrible execution today by multiple phases. Nobody can play a cohesive game
4. Awful decision making with play calls on defense. This cover 0 bullshit is failing and you just don’t do that to Aaron Rogers. I have no idea what Orr was calling today
5. Monken didn’t have a good day but I think his players did a bad job. Where the Hell is Bateman after we gave him his bag? Why are we sitting Henry for a quarter or so? It’s really perplexing. Faalele looks completely terrible
6. I can’t blame the refs because it’s also on the League. Remember: the league can interfere if the refs got it wrong. Th league also defends the refs

That’s enough for now

Nothing new said but Hop was sitting open in the back and the ball was going to hit him right between the numbers so I think it’s pretty certain
To your point, Andrews likes to ad-lib and just go play backyard football at times when things break down but Hopkins looked designed to be there. I think Lamar was definitely going to Hopkins

Great extension EDC

I pulled up an old article from NFL.com from 2012 when we fired Cam Cameron. Tell me if this sounds familar to you in 2025.... I mean just replace Ray Rice with Derrick Henry and look, the defense can't hold on to a late lead. Same issues, over a decade later. This is just to point out the similarities, again I don't think we will go on a run if we fired Monken or our defense will suddenly start shutting out opponents if Orr is gone. Just think it's odd how the issues back then still apply today.

"Cameron's offense was wildly uneven this season, like much of his tenure in Baltimore. But we're still stunned at the timing of the decision. The Ravens are 9-4 despite their two-game losing streak, and they hold a two-game lead in the AFC North. The Ravens put up 28 points during Sunday's overtime loss to the Washington Redskins, and it was their defense that couldn't hold on to a lead late.

"Sunday's loss to the Redskins was typical of Cameron's run as offensive coordinator. There were flashes of brilliance, with three touchdowns on the team's first four possessions. But then the offense bogged down; nine of their 13 drives lasted four plays or less. The lack of use of running back Ray Rice was a constant concern, and there were reports of frustration with the team's no-huddle approach during the season."

Let it go bro. This team's issues are deeper than 2012's. At least our offense had better playmakers that year, but yeah...

EDC has a problem. Guy is weirdly loyal to some players and not others. Mark Andrews was not a player to be loyal to.

Chiefs are 6-7.... we picked the wrong year to have everything go south on us. Just watch, we get a new Head Coach next year that actually takes advantage of Lamar & Derrick and the Chiefs are going to trade for Tyreek and be right back to their old self again.

That opening drive in the half where Roger had all day.

Did yall see who they sent out there on the line?

Like I said in the "Up Next" thread: I would expect Mark to have a big day after the contract, but it would probably be the opposite. And he cost us the game potentially at the end. smh
I'm not even mad at that, it's very hard to know who was targeted in real time. But the constant flopping is ridiculous and has to stop.

This. Man was trying to make a play on a critical down. He was also trying to spin his body for the PI call instead of just trying to make the play.
