I would trade up to get him, easily.
I could see him go, and that would suck, but I think his arms have to drop him. His combine will really dictate it. Maybe Reese can sneak above him but I also do like Reese, tooo.

3 qbs seems tough to ask for
maybe you get another CB or OL to help
but i see pretty EDGE needs at least with the Titans (4th pick), Commanders (7th pick), Saints (10th pick), Cowboys (12th pick)
and im sure the bengals, chiefs, rams, cardinals would all be interested in high end edge talent too...
you've got to hope that some teams that need EDGEs fall in love with the traits of Keldric Faulk or something like that
unless we're about to hire a defensive HC who's desperate for Bain and forces EDC to trade up (if he can lol), we're not trading up for anyone - EDC's only ever talked about hypothetically trading up for elite talents who fall (specifically used the example of chase young in that draft)

Mesidor is someone I can see shooting up the draft board at this rate. Especially if he also tests well at the combine.
i dont get why romello height is thought of as a borderline 1st rounder but Mesidor's languishing in mid-to-late day 2 territory on the consensus boards
both guys are gonna be 25 year old rookies, and mesidor is clearly the more explosive and more complete player
it's tough to draft a 25 year old rookie as a first rounder, but mesidor has tape that might be irresistible

i wasnt particularly moved from the little i've watched
Speed to power specialists will always have a place in my heart.
I feel like he plays with violence and power both in the pass rush and run defense that makes him an easy 3 down player.
I wouldn't say he's elite anywhere but his first step is really nice and when you blend that with his strength, hand usage and wrestling background, you get a decent floor and ceiling combination.
Reminds me a good bit of Tuipulotu.
to me he doesnt look like a great run defender (looks like he should be but isn't) - and you can see that Illinois actually take him off the field on a lot of running downs
i see some violence and size and speed to power
but i also see a stiff dude with slow reaction and not much of an upfield threat
I don't hate Faulk as much as you guys. It's super cliché but guys that size REALLY shouldn't be moving that way.

I think it would be David Bailey right now
Thats the guy who wears no gloves nor sleeves or nothing right lol
i don't dislike him at all - in fact i think he's a really good prospect
but i'm not drafting that skillset in R1 without some evidence of a consistent pass rush that's not just the occasional flash
i think his issue is that he's super athletic for his size but he's not super athletic vs the guys at his position in terms of speed, burst and those traits are really important for pass rush - it doesnt matter if you're 30lbs heavier than david bailey if he's not close to the same level of burst
hence why i think of him as more of a R2 prospect - but i think some team is going to take him R1 and i hope it's not us
for me the top 3 pass rushers easily are:
Reuben Bain Jr
David Bailey
Akheem Mesidor
and i think the tape says all 3 of those guys are worthy of high picks -
Mesidor's age and injury history might drop him to late R1 or even day 2 but he's a high-end prospect otherwise
Bain's got short arms that some people (and maybe some teams) are going to overthink/panic about
but those guys are awesome
275lbs i think but he moves with burst and power and has the ability to turn the corner really well
doesn't look slow on film to me
