The Fumbles, the Lamar Injury, and the Season’s Over?

it's a 3 year extension that's really a 2 year extension that, in the worst case, can be only a 1 year extension
he's got a cap hit of under 7m next year and under 15m in year 2 and you don't need to worry about year 3

like i get that paying him as a top 10 TE is annoying
but it really wasn't a crazy deal at all - there's 14m in funny money in that 3rd year that doesnt matter if he's declining in year 1 or 2 of the new deal - it's basically a 2 year 25m deal

and it gives you a 2 year buffer to find his replacement and not having to completely reset the TE position from scratch
I appreciate that you're attenpting to be nuanced and fully contextual with the size and nature of the deal. With that being said, I dont really care because he's only associated with negative plays for awhile now. He'll have a single game every month and a half that looks elite and the rest is putrid.

You dont want that guy on your team

i mean i personally wouldnt have re-signed him

but i do appreciate that it allows you to go into the offseason not having to rebuild your TE group from the ground up and pigeon-hole some of your offseason around trying to fill a hole (because you really don't want to go into the draft feeling like you have to get one - to me that feels worse than paying one because drafting TEs with premium picks always feels rough)

Yeah I just feel like you could've paid Kolar something less and drafted a guy. Maybe Likely would've done a 1 year deal to help himself out? Idk I'm just saying resigning Mark would've been my bottom choice.

So for me, I think the media, per usual, is just totally picking the worst possible spots for criticism. I have no fucking clue why people think Henry not paying in on the second to last drive is the difference in the game.

For starters, I'll take the shot at the fanbase, since this is what they wanted. They wanted more Mitchell. They said he was a playmaker. So they put him in a spot to make plays. You know what didn't happen? He didn't make plays.

THAT is the theme of the game and of the entire season. Your playmakers don't make plays. They fumble. They throw picks. They commit stupid penalties. They drop interceptions.
I love Mitchell and wanted more of him during the season but when the game is on the line and when the other team knows Snoop can’t get the ball down the field with his noodle arm so they can crowd the line, I am choosing Henry over Mitchell in that situation.

I didn't get as much time as I thought so I breezed through film this week...

The offense is definitely broken. Too many long developing plays. You can see guys like Bateman and Andrews uncovering but Lamar is already moving around or throwing to an earlier read. I understand you want Lamar to make plays but it boggles my mind that we seemingly only use the quick hitter stuff when he's out.

OL was pretty good overall. LG was the biggest problem regardless of who was in there. Both Vorhees and Emery had moments but also had struggles. It's not all pretty but I'd let Emery run the rest of the season at this point and let him develop, now that we're firmly on the outside looking in.

Edge rushers are passable but that interior rush minus Travis Jones is rough. Jenkins has had a good year but has also slowed as the season has gone on. Urban and Tupou are just guys out there. Okoye didn't play this game, but hasn't really progressed much. It's wild that they can't find snaps for Peebles with all of those things in mind.

Related to the above, the eye test does hold true on Mike Green. He was active and disruptive all game. He was ass at setting the edge but at this point I just want that dude chasing QBs.

Marlon was the obvious weak link in the secondary, but Gilman had just as rough of a game. Awful tackling display and had multiple moments where he made the read too late and didn't have the range to get to where he needed to be.

It’s bizarre that there’s not more quick read/quick pass. Maybe it’s just not in LJ’s wheelhouse, can’t figure any other explanation.

Definitely a rough game for Marlon. Have to say though, Maye did a great job of evading the rush, moving up in front. Made time for his receivers, hard to cover that far into a play.

The Patriots did a great job shading help to the edges after a bit and daring the interior guys to make a play and get to Maye. Spoiler alert… they couldn’t. I know Orr has caught some heat for this game but I saw a guy trying multiple different things to try to get a result once the Pats adjusted. Just didn’t have the horses up front to make an impact.

i really hope madubuike can come back healthy next year
makes such a difference to the outlook of this team defensively

Yep. And when they did pressure him Maye stood tough and made some great throws. Looks like NE found a keeper.

A video of Likely leaving M&T Bank Stadium went viral as fans thought he said the team is ‘ass’

After the Ravens lost to the New England Patriots, putting their playoff hopes out of their control, tight end Isaiah Likely’s interaction with a fan on his way out of M&T Bank Stadium went viral.
Many interpreted his comments, which were faint and hard to hear, as criticizing his own team for how bad it was.
The day after the video was posted, Likely took to X to clarify his statements, saying: “Never once said MY TEAM ass. I said “THIS S*** A** as F***. Yall Gone spin whatever narrative yall have to go viral. I FOREVER got my Brothers back.”

Likely broke it down further in the locker room Tuesday. He said he was expressing his disappointment about the situation, not his team.
“At the end of the day, when you have an awesome team, and your record shows that you’re 7-8 but you have the talent, the capability and all the players love each other, you’re going to be upset,” Likely said.Read More

After loss to Patriots, have Ravens reached their breaking point?

Dec 22, 2025
The Ravens’ 28-24 loss to the Patriots means that to make the playoffs, they must beat the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers in back-to-back weeks, and the Pittsburgh Steelers must lose to the Cleveland Browns this week. That means their fate rests on a 3-12 team beating a 9-6 team on Sunday.
“Who would want to not control their own destiny and go to playoffs?” Likely said. “And being 7-8, having to win this game and hope that the Browns take care of our business, I mean, nobody wants to be in that position."

When I saw the video it sounded to me like he said "shits ass" not we ass. Seems minor but I assumed he was talking about situation not "team" and people probably piled on him

The lack of quick hitting plays is what’s maddening because you know it’s doable, the second Lamar goes down you start to see them. Why in fuck do we absolutely refuse to give these plays to Lamar? It’s counterintuitive from every angle. Lamars hurt, his OL is awful, the run game isn’t consistent, we have no rhythm, why in gods name would you NEVER do the one thing that can seriously help alleviate all of that at once? It’s not like you have to abandon what you LIKE doing by sprinkling these things in. It’s like we either ran the ball or went bombs away all year.

Honestly. Quick Slants. Shallow Curls. RPOs. Combine those for like 10 snaps a game. Just add an element of rhythm and pacing and keep yourself on schedule, and slow down everything the D is doing
