Ok having seen he was only hired in 2023 I retract this statement, give him shot with a DC that knows what he’s doingHow long has Chuck been our coach? Cause I can’t think of one edge rusher to leave and not improve
Instead of just being a guy to avoid as a qb, he gets shots at the ball often. He can’t be avoided in his current position, which is what you wantHe’s much more impactful around the LOS than as a deep S
He wasn't hired by the team until 2023 if not mistaken. How long has Chuck been our coach? Cause I can’t think of one edge rusher to leave and not improve
He was here before orrDr. Rush needs a chance without Orr
Only 1 season thoughHe was here before orr
yep and clowney and kvn had career years in 2023. Madubuike didn't do half bad either. Owen also had a decent amount of pressures and a pretty decent win rate.Only 1 season though
And it was the year we led the league in sacks
10000% all macdonald doing.Only 1 season though

Who else has been impressive so far?Heard Davis Webb was extremely impressive in his interview. Doesn’t mean anything at this stage but just relaying what I hear.
really happy to hear this. Webb is really intriguing to me.Heard Davis Webb was extremely impressive in his interview. Doesn’t mean anything at this stage but just relaying what I hear.
He's not a flashy name like a Klint Kubiak or Robert Saleh, but John wasn't that big of a name when we hired him in 2008. You had Josh McDaniels coming off the perfect season with the Patriots, of course Jason Garrett. Obviously, the big thing here is who would be on his defensive staff. Our issues have been the lack of pass rush and creating turnovers on defense.really happy to hear this. Webb is really intriguing to me.
Webb is very intriguing but I doubt he becomes head coach. I think he needs to be an offensive coordinator first. I'm glad they interviewed him though. He's not a flashy name like a Klint Kubiak or Robert Saleh, but John wasn't that big of a name when we hired him in 2008. Why didnt the trend continue into this season? Why it only got better last season after we started playing terrible offenses? End of macdonald 1st year, he started turning things up. That shit lead into the 2023 season and our defense was the best ive seen dam near ever besides the 06 defense. Turnaround maybe not small stats wise but hit had less to do with orr defensive coaching.. like its no scheme or nothing out there.. just see ball get ball. I like orr but it was just too early for him
We had our 5th and 2nd highest graded team defensive grades in the first 2 weeks. Then we went down the tubes when we lost one of our best defenders in Nnamdi Madubuike. Which was disastrous since we didn't have anyone who could push the pocket from the interior. That's 60 combined, sacks, QB hits and pressures without any make up, and Orr wasn't nearly creative enough to make up for the lack of talent, nor did have the unit humming with the basics. It's what possibly stunted Malaki Starks from making up for the loss of Ar'Darius Washington earlier, the man half-way responsible for the 2024 turnaround. The issues with basic execution and talent development are likely why it took Starks nearly half of the season to get to form. Same with Teddye Buchanan.
But that turnaround came directly after we benched Marcus Williams, moved Kyle Hamilton to FS and started Washington, playing him in mostly deeper coverages. Those are literally coaching decisions. This is coming from someone who wasn't high on the Orr signing at the time and did not expect him to patch our losses. There is no leg to stand on in pretending it had nothing to do with Orr. It's a stance that couldn't be more wrong.
Question is - was it Orr or Dean Pees? The timing of the change was peculiar.
Kind of, absolute minimum amount of time it would take for Pees to convince Harbaugh to sit Marcus Williams? We can't know for sure, but he arrived on October 9th, before Week 6. So there was still over a month before those personnel changes.
