Coaching Carousel 2026

That clip of him talking with Tua has me so excited - he’s clearly a great communicator with his players. I’d bet a lot of money Lamar would get his third MVP if Mike is scheming up the offensive plays

I think too many people have got caught up with McDaniel being kinda nerdy and overlooked that he’s charismatic, a good communicator and players really like him too

All of that on top of still being able to run routes

And being the stereotypical mad scientist cooking up plays in the lab

I think the big concern with McDaniel is that there are plenty of reports that say the players kind of ran the show down there. Could very well be by design knowing who McDaniel is, but also could be a detriment for this job specifically.

Nabbing Mike as HC would differ from what we’re traditionally used to in Baltimore (“CEO” rah-rah/strong culture guys like Billick and Harbaugh) but Steve did make it known he is interested in an X’s and O’s HC and as I’ve stated before, Mike scored extremely highly on those player report cards while in Miami

I know folks aren’t entirely sold on Mike as HC but I absolutely would not be opposed

He’s my favourite

My list right now in preference:
1. Mike McDaniel
2. Jesse Minter
3. Robert Saleh
Dark Horses - Davis Webb, Nathan Scheelhaase

You’re not concerned with his quirky personality? Personally I’m not and I could see it messing well with Biscotti and Lamar but I know others feel differently.

I’m more saying that I trust them not to hire him if they don’t think he’s going to gel with the players and the organisation

And if he does meet their leadership and cultural criteria and characteristics to get the job then I’d get excited on the basis that he’s also a guy who fits the young offensive scheme profile of coach

Assuming he had control of the draft process, what are you do in a sport where one position on offense is much more important than any other? Look how good Sean Payton looked the year Brees retired. He had one year without him and called in quits. Went 9-8.

Nobody has looked good on the Jets since Rex Ryan and that was over 10 years ago

McDonald had Geno Smith and now Darnold, both record-winning seasons

Harbaugh targeting Weaver as his DC. So basically admitting Orr was a mistake and is now going for the "safer" option. Also, running it back with all of the dudes he knows lol

One of the reasons fans didn’t like him here lol

Just hired his guys until the couple of years he decided to go out and find some talented guys from other places

And even then, still had some friends on the team.

Looking at you, Willie Taggart

That would be the last thing this team needs. We need a guy with a little bit of a drill Sargent mentality, demanding structure and accountability from every player.

Now Levine is the kinda player I would think could step right into a special teams coordinator role, he was among the best, if not the best, specialist in the league for a VERY long time. That guy knows special teams inside and out on a different level. Zach Orr was never that guy on defense, didn’t have anywhere close to that amount of experience on the field, he wasn’t a leader of the unit year after year, helping with development of young players, wasn’t as intuitive or high iq of a player as Levine was on ST.

THIS is the kinda guy you make an offer to at a coordinator spot to keep in the building, not a Zach Orr.
