Coaching Carousel 2026

no wonder Bisciotti cut him loose:

minor tweaks was never going to be good enough
if being resistant to change was his ultimate downfall, that's a pretty fitting way to go given his historic reluctance to make big changes

lmao I joked that Harbaugh told Steve he would bring back Orr and that's why he was fired, but honestly that sounds like exactly what happened here.

"So Mr Steve, I want to bring back Coach Warhop and Zach Orr and..."

"You're fired"

The biggest coaching mistake the Ravens made and it is a generational huge mistake was not putting MacDonald in charge a few years ago. I guess Harbs was not ready to leave or retire but it was a huge mistake by the organization.

Ravens can offer an aspiring HC candidate:

Patient and strong ownership
Stable organisation with great infrastructure and support
A great front office, scouting network and analytics department
An elite franchise QB
A pretty strong roster around the QB - with some other superstars
11 draft picks including 14th overall pick
Some cap space to work with

Michigan alum.

He has a hard-on for anything Harbaugh related.

Hes will fire McDaniel in a heartbeat if Harbaugh agrees to the Miami gig.

(…and then McDaniel agrees to be OC for Baltimore) #SIIE

brian flores is definitely a good option

by many accounts the big issue for him in miami was his relationship with Tua (and as we've seen, Flores's post Tua career has been a lot better than Tua's post-Flores career)
The way he trashed Tua in private and public put me off Flores as a HC candidate.

I know Tua's not good, but he was still Miami's best option at QB and he was a hell of a lot better when McDaniel was building him up than when Flores was tearing him down. His attitude of "my defense is great, it's not my fault if the offense is terrible" is an awful approach from a HC.

My fear is that he'd play to maximize his defense like a Mike Zimmer, even with Lamar at QB.

It was probably more like...

Steve: "How are you going to fix this? We really underperformed this year in a big way, injuries and luck aside."
Harbaugh: "Well, I think it was really just a lot of bad luck--that's just it. God just didn't let the ball bounce our way."
Steve: "OK, but what changes are we making?"
Harbaugh: "Well, we need to let Monken go but I think we keep mostly everyone else here. We have a good group. I want to bring back Orr--"
Steve: "Orr?"
Harbaugh: "Yeah, Orr. Also, re-sign Faalele."
Steve: "GTFOH"
