how ironic

maybe Harbs was happy to move on from Orr but moving on from Monken was a sticking point

any new HC will bring in their own guys, but I do think Monken is going to be highly sought after around the league as an OC (if he doesnt get any HC jobs) - Lions would be a perfect landing spot for him

The way he trashed Tua in private and public put me off Flores as a HC candidate.

I know Tua's not good, but he was still Miami's best option at QB and he was a hell of a lot better when McDaniel was building him up than when Flores was tearing him down. His attitude of "my defense is great, it's not my fault if the offense is terrible" is an awful approach from a HC.

My fear is that he'd play to maximize his defense like a Mike Zimmer, even with Lamar at QB.

it's also highly likely that Flores has grown from that experience - he's definitely matured over the last few years

I just heard that the browns want to interview him for HC.

I was so ready for this but didn’t expect it. Thanks Harbs for all the great memories but much like Billick it was time for something new. Who are we looking for here? Who are the under the radar guys?

I like Klint Kubiak. Minter to a lesser extent because I feel like we should have just kept Mike Mac at that point. I don’t see the dude from Minnesota being the guy that meshes with EDC tbh

That is kind of surprising. I wonder why. Strange hill to die on

I'm sure he has but that's atrocious people management skills. He's have to grow a long way from that into someone who can lead an organisation successfully.

EDC's going to mesh with anyone who's got clear philosophies and principles

Now I’m getting the nitty gritty since that meeting ended…

Expectations in the FO were that the Ravens were going to move on from Monken. He and Lamar don’t have a great relationship. Nothing bad per se but just doesn’t gel with how Lamar wants to play. Felt moving on and giving Lamar an actual say this time would help with contact stuff.

Harbaugh went in today and wanted to keep both coordinators. Bisciotti said no and that was that. FO wasn’t aware that was the plan.

Wow. I thought EDC would have known Harbaugh's thoughts on something like that. They can't have been as close as it seemed.

i wonder what it is, specifically, that lamar wants to do (or not do) that monken won't facilitate

lmao. So Harbaugh did want to run it back. I can't believe he would think that's acceptable. I knew Steve wouldn't be cool with it. Steve said before that if he puts someone on the hot seat, he may as well cut them now. With his history of Billick, it's what Steve would do.
