Coaching Carousel 2026

Don’t know on point 4

Think shades of point 5 are accurate but not sure I’d portray it that strongly based on what I was told, but not saying there isn’t some validity. I know the offensive ineptitude was causing some rifts and it seems like that culminated today, but I’m not sure players hate Monken or anything.
It feels like from what I’ve read it kinda went like thid

Harbaugh thought he was safe, and was mostly right, but shouldn’t have approached it that way. Steve, being who he is and how he got there, felt like it demonstrated he was out of touch and confirmed a feeling he had that Harbaugh lost the team despite them showing signs of life towards the end. Harbaugh sticking with his coaches despite it being obvious that a change needed to be made likely compounded things and confirmed to Steve he has to replace Harbaugh even if he didn’t want to do it.

In the end Harbaugh’s hubris got him.

I’m not sure if Steve spoke to players but I do wonder if he did. It almost feels like he knew there was a disconnect, although I have no doubt he could figure that out without speaking to them

He definitely got some info from the players. How much did that factor? Who knows. I think it just confirmed a lot of his thoughts - the players wanted a new offensive mind, the FO was thinking they’d have a new offensive mind, and Bisciotti himself seemingly wanted one too. And then Harbaugh comes in and runs counter to everyone else… easy to see why it happened so abruptly.

now.. how hot is EDC’s seat?

Getting a little smoky I’d say. Think there’s a clear recognition that he’s great at identifying talent, but can’t leave gaping holes anymore. Time to fix the things that have been broken for awhile. And if he doesn’t…
Pass rush been an issue for years. Years! Eric acting like we still have Macdonald who could make chicken cordon bleu from chicken shit

Man this news got me fired up. Pushing decosta to be aggressive in the offseason like make moves or gtfo.

Void years bouta go crazy, we’re gonna push Lamar to extend asap and go make a big signing.
Crosby gotta be a Raven. He's got that old-school Raven mentality. Especially from a shit organization like that? Come on now.

#SIIE

Sean McVay missed a game and in that game LaFleur called the plays. They put up 45 points

Indeed. Still leaning towards offensive-minded coach. I look at Baker in his last year in CLE and his short tenure with the Panthers. Goes to the Rams and gets right. Goes to the Bucs and looks great until their great OCs left and look at the Bucs now.

Imparting my opinion here, but I’d guess getting Lamar done is the top priority once a new coach is selected. Think he’s kind of handcuffed until that happens. But that’s partially his own doing and partially Lamar being tough to work with.

Kind of a sad story if he gets fired… buddy waited 20+ years for his time. Only to fail and get x’d.

Luckily, EDC seems like a smart guy. Humble enough to know where he’s messing up and tries to correct it. Unlike that arrogant terrorist.

Oh and some context for the Lamar-Monken stuff before I call it a night…

Remember that Lamar was asked for input into the OC at the time Todd was hired. Monken would not have been his choice. Harbaugh went with his guy anyways. Not saying it was a bad result overall, but that feeling of your opinion not being valued doesn’t just go away, especially when it happens again…

I think he can easily cool that seat down. Based on what I heard, Bisciotti is just tired of losing big games. Think there’s a directive to go get a guy that rises instead of falters in those big moments. He knows DeCosta can identify talent. Now go get it.

Zay Flower’s ex gf already told us about Lamar and Harbs

Hmmmm interesting . I honestly thought Monken Air Raid offense that typically gives the quarterback the freedom to audible and etc would be something Lamar would love given that it was something he was looking to do more of before Roman was let go. Harbaugh ideally would have still wanted a coach that fit his philosophy but I thought the hire at the time would fit Harbaugh and Lamar but it is what it is. Still seem a little strange

Teams with Head Coaches weren't going to fire their coach but suddenly Harbaugh became available and we potentially just got some coach who thought he was safe fired lmao.

Been saying this for years. Absolute music to my ears.

For the first time since like 2023 if I'm being generous and more like 2019, I can feel confident that Lamar will being us a SB.

It was never ever ever gonna happen with those coordinators. And probably not with Harbs. And thank goodness Eric has been told in no uncertain terms, you know what you need to do. He's just as important as the rest.

Now how long do we think we will take to fill this role? Are we going for a guy that may be cosching in the SB? Or are we going for someone lesser known?

I think this will be fun and interesting. Harbaugh never hired anyone you'd expect. This is truly a new era.
