Coaching Carousel 2026

Hiring Weaver would certainly be a choice but I trust Steve

Not sure if Harbaugh is just making it harder on Cleveland specifically or if this is true for all teams. Harbaugh really acting like he's Belichick if true.

Loooool

I believe Harbaugh is the only guy available who can at least play that hand. he'd have to settle for Miami or Titans to get it but he can get most of that.
If he played that specific hand, he wouldn't be coaching.
For starters, $30M for a HC is about 50% more than the current highest paid HC.
Second, I have no idea what the typical cost for a coaching staff is, but I'm guessing that's on the very high end or way above. Your coordinators typically make a couple million maybe (less in some cases) and I'd say there's very few, if any, positional coaches making $1M. A lot make a few hundred grand.
I don't think the request to be involved in the GM search, or have "some control" over the roster are unreasonable, and I think he could get that. No coach ever has complete control. Even Belichick didn't have that.

One or two of these things individually aren't that unreasonable. Together, he wouldn't get it from anybody.

Flores scares me as someone who might not get along with Lamar as he seems like a real hard ass. Ryan fitz had a segment talking about how he burnt a lot of bridges so I hope that would change.

Kubiak and Minter are easily my top two. Huge agree on we need a scheme edge. I want someone who can score on the chiefs or
stop the chiefs. Minter has proved ability in the second part of that.

Great so another harbaugh who’s gonna come off like an incompetent cornball as soon as he can’t fix a problem
You can say the same about Mike Vrabel if he was the one being interviewed instead. Not every CEO head coach operate the same. Just like not every head coach that call plays in on game day are the same I don't look at Anthony Weaver and think he's just like Harbaugh just like I don't look at Mike Vrabel, Mike Tomlin, and etc as being similar.

$20m is what Reid makes, $10m for staff isn't crazy considering the top coordinators are in the 4m+ range. Total control is as you say, a subjective thing. So he's basically asking for tippy top of the market, not really re setting the market and it's a negotiating stance.

The Giants are so hot on him they could cave to that almost entirely.

I don’t fw Mike vrabel at all, can’t stand that mf, but he was a proven DC before becoming a HC

I think Flores and Lamar would get along very well. They might even be meant for each other. I'm not looking for another dude who who coaches here for 15 years, I'm looking for the guy who can win with Lamar over the next 3.

I'm sure everybody's got their own hard ons for different guys, i want to pair up Flores and Daboll, any which way it can come together.

Tbf, it says 20m not sure where you got 30. And dude above countered well enough that I don’t feel the need to.

WOW. Personally if I was calling the shots, anyone who I had to impose this kind of approach to would be automatically eliminated from the head coaching search.
I know it's the popular thing but I don't get the impression they care overly concerned about play calling experience/success or anything like that when it comes to the HC. They're going to pick the best guy for the job, and if that's Weaver (or anyone else in a similar vain), so be it.

Their top 3 targets that I've heard - Weaver, Kubiak, and Minter (in no order) - all are completely different molds, so they're definitely open to a lot of different options here.
