Coaching Carousel 2026

First of all, no he didn't lol. I remember discussing at length how bad Tua was every year. But you're right that's because some dolphins fams were delusional prior to his concussions I guess. But just look, does this look good to you?

55 total games under McDaniel
3424 pass yards per season on average
23.25 TDs per season on average
11 INTs per season on avaerage
99.125 passer rating on average
Put me in the camp that thinks Tua was always bad. Hated him as a prospect and always thought he was the biggest issue in Miami.

With that being said, it's hard to say McDaniel didn't elevate Tua early on in his tenure. He played well above what he should have been. Then he bonked his head a couple of times and started making even worse decisions than he did previously and it was all downhill from there.

I apologize because yall dont care what triggers me, but the use of "CEO coach" whose definition is entirely antithetical to how CEOs operate is driving me nuts lol

I'm really intrigued by Davis Webb. His age and lack experience may be concerning but the idea of pairing him with Anthony Weaver to be his assistant head coach whom likely be the one that can help keep the ravens way intact would be interesting.

Probably not the right candidate for a win-now squad if you think you need to hire an assistant HC to hold his hand.

He’s too young.

He’s going to TV if he parts ways with them

beyond just him keeping the steelers competitive for years with consistently over-achieving rosters...
this is the other reason i hope we see Tomlin on TV post-steelers, i think he's a really intelligent, articulate, and charismatic communicator and it really annoys me that he's the steelers coach because i like him a lot

Knowing full well that I'm making assumptions without knowing how these interviews go at all...

I really hope they take the swing for the homerun (Webb?) instead of taking the easier swing for a double (Kubiak?). I'd much rather swing and miss but go for it all. Just feels like if we want to capitalize on this window, picking an 'okay' candidate feels like a cop out. Give me the guy they think is best, even if the fail potential is there.

certainly wouldn't bother me at all and as a matter fact I'd be really excited if we landed Webb. Who knows, he could be the next Sean McVay.

This is how I feel as well considering we wasted the last 2 years with inept coaching.

I'm all for casting a net, but it is quite remarkable to me just how many guys we're interviewing. If you asked me 6 months ago, I'd have said we'd interview maybe 4-5 guys, thinking we already had a list in mind. We're interviewing like John suddenly died and we are scrambling to replace him. Almost like we are taken off guard by it.

Didn’t they do the same thing when Brian got fired though?

I know Monken was a similar thing

McDaniel had Tua looking very good until his brain turned to mush and he got scared of getting hit

im fairly sure they'll pick a candidate without fear - one of their strengths as an organisation is not worrying about what the rest of the league thinks in terms of trends etc.

McDaniel indirectly messed up his own gig because he made Tua good enough to get paid even though McDaniel never actually wanted him to be the long term QB. FO and him were on different pages and he just kind of had to deal with his own doing.

I could see Harbaugh with either the Giants or the Falcons and if it comes down to the Falcons, then the fans are already used to blowing 10 point leads.

the fact that chris grier got nearly 10 years and 3 HCs is wild to me - never showed any sort of personnel acumen to be given that long of a leash
