I have a couple of friends that are Giants fans. Hopefully Harbs brings them some success, they’ve suffered in mediocrity for a long time.

Not to mention the list of "young blood" coaches who were great as coordinators but failed spectacularly as HCs, including some in this cycle, is a mile long. The whiff rate is a lot longer than the hit rate.

happens every year, but that being said, sometimes gems are found. We have hired two coaches and both of them brought us to super bowls and only one of them was the "hot" coordinator.

Billick came in as a top OC, and other than having a solid running game our offense never really took off during his time here. I’m saying this because it wasn’t his OC experience that made him successful, it was more his leadership and management qualities.
 
I feel like when we first started this process, Kubiak was probably my top choice. Now that I've had time to evaluate the other guys, I feel like he's fallen pretty far in the pack for me. I don't know that I'd be disappointed if he was the choice, but it also just feels like there's a lot more excitement to be had.
 
I feel like Gary Kubiak gets viewed with such rose tinted glasses.

I was thinking the other day how we were all excited that Kubiak *almost* got Flacco to 4,000 yards and got him a career high 27 passing touchdowns.

Now we've got Lamar winning three All Pros and two MVPs.

How far the Ravens have come.

That's correct. Leadership and being able to build a staff are extremely important pieces of a coach. Billick was totally limited not being able to have a good QB in his time in Baltimore.

truly should have had a 3rd MVP. In 2024 Lamar had an historic year for a QB.

I’m in agreement here and this is a sentiment I share. I’ll admit with Kubiak my initial interest was due to:

1. Familiarity
2. Good offense with ok QB
3. Been around various HC
4. Macdonald connection

I’m really interested in Webb right now
