Coaching Carousel 2026

Just proves you can’t do shit with a bad Oline.
I would say Todd’s biggest weaknesses are not adapting the offense to situation (our shit o line) and poor late game play calling that allowed a lot of teams to climb back in the 4th.

But he’s a brilliant OC. It’s crazy to me that his name came up more than Orr did.

Doesn't mean the other guys haven't done well and doesn't mean these guys end up in the final 5, but have heard positive news on Webb, Weaver, Minter, and Stefanski so far.

that obviously will only include the guys they've spoken to already

so basically we're inferring that they were less enthused by the interviews of:
Vance Joseph
Klint Kubiak
Matt Nagy
Kliff Kingsbury
Brian Flores
Jim Schwartz

which tbf makes sense

but specifically worth noting they havent interviewed these 5 guys yet:
Robert Saleh (confirmed interviewing on Sunday)
Mike McDaniel
Nate Scheelhaase
Chris Shula
Joe Brady

Did we request to interview Shula? I can't remember.

I wouldn't say that is necessarily true. So much going on that I'm just getting little snippets here and there vs. wholistic information right now.

Could ve wrong but would think we have a new coach next week. Round 1 is done Sunday. Dont see why they would need more than a few days to talk to 5 guys one more time.

each of those in-person interviews will be a full day each where they go round all the departments, talk to steve, talk to the front office, talk to lamar (if he's there)

if there's candidates, that will be 5 days

it's possible we might know by the end of next week but if Round 1 is only finishing sunday, my guess is round 2 isn't starting until Tuesday and if any of their top guys are still involved in the playoffs, they'll have to wait until that team is eliminated or wait until the week after the conference championship games for teams involved in the superbowl

guys that might affect:
Webb, Joseph, Kubiak, Saleh, Shula, Scheelhaase, Brady

so my guess is it's still a couple of weeks away

I feel like when we first started this process, Kubiak was probably my top choice. Now that I've had time to evaluate the other guys, I feel like he's fallen pretty far in the pack for me. I don't know that I'd be disappointed if he was the choice, but it also just feels like there's a lot more excitement to be had.

based on the way they've gone through the process, if it's Kubiak, I'll be pumped

but based on the way they've gone through the process, i'd be surprised if kubiak's a top option

as soon as mike mcdaniel became available, my intrigue in kubiak was dramatically lessened - obviously they're different people and this is somewhat overly simplistic, but to me, mcdaniel is Kubiak but with more HC experience, better charisma/charm/room control, and a better running game
