Of the current candidates, I think Minter and Stefanski are mortal locks to be HC's in the next call it 10 days. And while anything can happen, I'll be surprised if Saleh and McDaniel don't get jobs also.So this is why all of this is so captivating. I like Stefanski and McDaniel and would prefer an OC as HC - I think. But! If Minter is HC, would one of those two settle to be OC here? And how long would they stay? Conversely, could we hire either Stefanski or McDaniel and still get Minter as DC? The bigger question is how in either scenario is how do we KEEP them longer than a year or two? We need some continuity going forward. I think more on OFF which is the ONLY reason I err to an OC as HC.
McDaniel is getting a HC gig, he's not coming as an OC for Saleh so I'm throwing that out.
I'm still high on Flores + daboll, but raiding the Broncos could work. Joseph HC + Webb OC is doable.
Apparently the holdup is changing how the G-Men operates.I'm curious if the holdup with Harbaugh is that another team is coming in late with a better offer, he still wants his own GM so Schoen has to be fired and the Giants aren't willing to move on from him.
Stefanski would be a good hire for Atlanta if it happens. Starting to think we'll hire one of the Rams coaches, Mike McDaniel or Minter.
football is way more than X’s and O’s. You need a certain amount of rah rah, and taking and enforcing accountability.says who though?
just because he's not rah rah rah?
But he’ll be having THE TIME OF HIS LIFEI want nothing to do with Joseph as HC
It's just a gut feeling I have with him. I just see him as a possible Dick Lebeau type, except for offense.says who though?

Even grown men and professionals feel doubt, pride creeps in, frustrations boil over, football still is an incredibly passion and energy fueled sport. You are always going to need a coach and at least one player on each side of the ball that can be the tone setter, the calm keeper, and the attitude adjuster for a team of 53 world class athletes who beat the shit out of eachother for 5 months out of every year.
The best head coaches are more than just X’s and O’s, they command respect from their whole team and lead by example, their presence alone keeps everyone sharp and focused. Sean mcvay, Sean Payton, Andy Reid, bill Belichick, all X’s and O’s guys but also run a tight ship and their players are consistently locked in, they are guys who players don’t wanna let down.
Harbaugh used to be that guy, he lost it over the years. His talks in the locker room after the game, win or lose were falling on deaf ears, his words didn’t come off as genuine anymore and everyone on the team could feel it, and what I’ve seen of McDaniel addressing his players in this manner felt a lot of the same, like he’s forcing something that isn’t really in his nature.I understand what you’re saying and with that logic why you may doubt McDaniel is the guy but all you’re really saying is you need a coach who will demand consistency and accountability. Why do you think McDaniel isn’t that guy? From what I seen he does that.
I am willing to bet he would 100% call out his players and if you ran your route at 9 yards instead of the designated 10 yard route and tell you why he needs it that way.
Maybe defensive wise he may not be that guy but was Harbaugh that guy? Or did he just fulfill that rah rah bs that is being made a priority by some.
Harbs got caught in a place here where he could no longer operate with the discipline and accountability he was used to demanding. A new guy coming in, even if he's similar to Harbs, will be able to start fresh and certain players won't be able to expect the coddling they've had in recent years. Pretty sure with a fresh start in NY Harbs will be able to do the same.Harbaugh used to be that guy, he lost it over the years. It’s not something I can quantify, it’s all vibes here, something just feels off about McDaniel as a HC for a franchise that’s supposed to be one of the more hard nosed teams in the league.
