Coaching Carousel 2026

I agree. A fresh NFL HC candidate with college HC experience. Only thought there on my side is maybe they felt that losing Parsons exposed that defense for not being quite as good as it appeared.

he's been a buzzy guy since before they had Parsons though
been constantly talked about as a guy for at least a couple of years

wild though that with all the qualified minority coaches, the Dolphins are likely doing sham in-person interviews with Kelvin Sheppard and Patrick Graham just to satisfy the rooney rule

i wonder if a bunch of the more qualified guys flat out refused knowing it was just a box-ticking exercise

but also, as highly thought of as hafley is, a little funky that their new GM is just hiring the guy he knows the best - doesnt say much for the hiring process

i wonder if some of these situations are starting to coalesce because some of those guys who are high on other lists have been told they're not under consideration for the ravens job anymore

stefanski's the only surprise from that standpoint

but also how are the titans narrowing onto those candidates lol - their search just seemed to be: find me a future HC who's already done the job before regardless of success or anything else... they've interviewed 17 candidates (not including Harbs who was top of their list too), 12 were former HCs, 1 of the other 5 was an interim HC at one point... non-retreads they interviewed were Lou Anarumo, Jeff Hafley, Jesse Minter and Chris Shula

I don’t blame Stefanski for taking the Atlanta , that’s a roster with a lot of talent and a weak division. I would probably jump on that job too if i felt wanted there and a lot of competition for the Ravens job.

Saleh's now been officially interviewed.

So all the reported interviews have now happened.
All 15 of them.

Stefanski the only one off the board. Although possible that Nagy might join him soon.

If there's interest in Davis Webb, Vance Joseph or Klint Kubiak, those in-person final interviews will have to wait until next Monday at the earliest.

Ravens have had 1 in-person interview with a minority candidate, Mike McDaniel, so at least one of the finalists (not including McDaniel) will be a minority candidate to satisfy the rooney rule: Weaver, Flores, Joseph, Saleh and Scheelhaase are the other minority candidates who were virtually interviewed

I'm admittedly just taking a complete guess here, but my guess at the 5 finalists (in no order):

Minter
Saleh
Kubiak
McDaniel
Webb

that would be my list too

but i wonder if Weaver makes the final list
and i wonder if Scheelhaase makes it too - no intel on how his interview went but by all accounts he's been impressive at every stop on his journey

Wanting Nagy as Head Coach is crazy.

How you sell that to a fanbase?
Especially when you are getting a brand new stadium in Nashville as well. Like cool, new stadium that I personally didn't think the Titans needed but Matt Nagy is supposed to be the guy to welcome in that new stadium? Yikes.

Saleh was the one I felt least confident about but it's a guess anyways so why not. Weaver would have been my alternate choice.

I did hear that Scheelhaase was impressive, but probably not going to be a finalist. But that was also before Stefanski took the Atlanta job, so there's another open spot there that he could easily fill.

I think that's accurate but if Stefanski was a top 5 candidate do you think they still go with a top 5 or just go with top 4.

I'm guessing they'll add another, especially if some of their candidates are still coaching and you can't talk to them until next week anyways.

I’m mixed on Saleh. Minter is the only defensive guy I really want.

Minter, Kubiak, McDaniel, Webb, maybe maybe Scheelhasse

obviously none of us were in the interviews but it feels tough to cut it down to just 4-5 guys

im assuming the number is arbitrary and if there's 6 guys they think are worth bisciotti's time, then they'll interview 6 guys

but if it is 5 my guess is the same as yours

With the options available doubt I'm mad with whichever choice.

Unless it's weaver

the guys that will leave me unenthused:
Weaver
Joseph
Nagy
Kingsbury
Schwartz

i can live with any of the other remaining 9:

Young DCs:
Minter
Shula

Young offensive prodigies:
Webb
Scheelhaase

Offensive Playcallers:
McDaniel
Kubiak
Brady

Defensive Retreads:
Flores
Saleh

Oh yeah I'd agree with that. They're going to pick the guys they think have a shot at the job. If that's 3, so be it. If it's 7, so be it.

I think you've got a few easily eliminations (Nagy, Schwartz, Kingsbury), some next tier guys, and then the cream of the crop.

It sounds like they talked to Marcus Freeman as well, but not necessarily a formal interview. Sounds like they wanted to assess interest but also just talk about some of the things that are working for that program.

They wanted to do the same with Cignetti but him playing tomorrow has meant that hasn't happened.
