I don’t know if any of you watch the podcast Raven’s Collective with Bobby Baltimore, Jeff Z and Cole Jackson, but Jeff left some interesting tidbits:

We have interviewed college coaches, doesn’t specify for what positions or who

We did interview Dennard for the DC position but he accepted the NYG DC hours later. Presumably due to not getting play calling rights here.

He doesn’t fit the system imo. Maybe the Jets finally found a DC

It's what they deserve if that's how it plays out. Multiple guys removed themselves from consideration because they wanted to hitch Schwartz to them no matter what. Time goes on and it looks like in order to keep Schwartz, they have to give him the job. Now they've passed him over and pissed him off.

He runs a different style of defense than Minter if not mistaken and Minter likely wants to remain calling plays. Doubt Schwartz wants to give up play calling. If things don't work out with him and the browns then it's likely he's going to the 49ers.

I watched it last night. It's likely the ravens next OC is from the college ranks. Wouldn't rule it out being Charlie Weiss Jr

What in the actual fuck are the Browns doing? It is incomprehensible to me that hey decided to hire Monken as their HC. Who is he going to develop at QB? Sanders or the lefty? What happens to Jim Schwartz? Can he come over to us?

Yeah they could’ve hired Jim Schwartz but other than Schwartz and monken they literally didn’t have a choice lol

if it was just Jeff and Cole then i'd love it

but bobby trosset is so unwatchable - he gives me the creeps a bit tbh
the stuff he does with sarah ellison (who i liked) has kind of soured my opinion of her too

He's never wanted to. He's kind of been the "HC or nothing" type of guy. He did the position coach thing for 1 year and said never again.

I will admit that I am very surprised that a condition of Minter's hire wasn't having an OC plan in place. I'm not nervous or worried by any means, but it feels like that pool has dwindled and they may have to go with someone that was not their top choice. Meanwhile, it's hard to say that there aren't a bevy of defensive options available. I don't think they panicked and they definitely felt good about Minter, but you have to wonder if there's a tinge of regret of not holding the line and hearing out the other options.
