Chargers are resting their starters. Jim announced that Justin Herbert won't play. This is not what the Patriots want to hear as they still had a shot to win the 1 seed. This also means if Buffalo and Houston win, the Chargers will fall to the 7 seed and play the 2 seeded Patriots. Meaning, we are guaranteed to play either Houston or Buffalo.
Suprised to hear that Chargers are resting there starters with the possibility of falling to the 7 seed, unless that is exactly what they want.

Checking in from Houston, I think they will play to win vs Indy regardless and most likely get the 5/4 matchup unless Jags get caught sleeping. Going to be an interesting final week for sure!

Houston has a reason to try to win since they technically can get the division if the Jags lose to the Dolphins. Unlikely, but crazy stuff happens sometimes.

tbf with herbert injured
the chance of having a home game against the texans or bills might be scarier than a road game against the pats
The Chargers won't get a home game either way. The Broncos already won the division. For the Chargers if they lose they're the 7th seed, and if they win they're the 6th seed. It won't make much of a difference.

so if they win all they're doing is probably booking themselves a rematch in the wildcard round
if they lose they get the Pats instead

Can we not lose the turnover battle like we typically do against them in PIT? Now, I want us to win obviously.

But if we lose, let us lose in one of two ways:

1. We get blown out.
2. Lucky number 14th game that we blow a double-digit lead in the 4Q.

I think this, of all the years I can remember, is maybe the year where teams care the absolute least about seeding (in the AFC). I don't think teams will be shivering to play DEN or NE in the divisional round. The gap between the 1 and the 7 is as small as I've ever seen it.

An interesting playoff scenario that I wasn't aware of, but they covered extensively tonight:
With the Falcons upset win over the LAR, the Bucs no longer control their own destiny to win the NFC South.

If CAR wins, they win the NFCS.
If TB wins, they also need the Saints to beat the Falcons on Sunday.

If ATL beats the Saints on Sunday, CAR wins the division, regardless of whether they win/lose vs TB.

Imagine if that was us where we beat Pittsburgh on a Saturday but had to wait to see if Cleveland beat Cincinnati because tiebreakers would go to Pittsburgh if Cincinnati won.
