The Q4 Heroics, the Tackling, and the Season is Over

Monken is better than Orr. Neither one should be on this team.

Both coordinators look like they need help in the trenches to me . I think Orr would look like a genius with better pass rush help and Monken offense probably would rival the greatest show on turf with better guards .

I just have to wonder what failed to translate in game.

I can't remember which game it was, but in one of the games, it's a longer kick (like 55+) and Loop hits it beautifully and it's going right down the middle and... it came up like two yards short, at least.

I was actually in disbelief.
Oh so he is literally Billy Cundiff then.

Cundiff came up just short on a 56 yrdr against Pitt. Perfectly aimed, went straight, just came up 3 yards short.

So it seemed like Billy had the accuracy they needed.
But then he missed from 32 as time expired in the playoffs.

They did win the SB the next year tho and they drafted Tucker, who was pretty good at kicking for a while.

Fuck football. Check out this adorable creature

He won’t hurt me nearly as much as 53 crows do every year

A Losing Team, with a bad record at home, picked by many to Reach/Win the Super Bowl. Started 1-5, Finished 7-4, Missed the Playoffs and showed some glaring weaknesses. Front Office / Coaching / Players. Big Holes all around. Head Coach is Not a Lifetime Appointment. No Pass Rush is a Front Office Failure. Marlon Humphrey cannot play. Zay Flowers has hands problems...slippery ball......slippery ball. One of those TD's was trying it squirm out. When Hamilton went out it was curtains. Never fire a Kicker for liking massages. The Patriots didn't fire Robert Kraft over that. Obviously the Head Coach needs to go. Clean his House and while we are at it get a new GM. This team has not gone the right direction and hasn't had a killer instinct. Then the talent subsided and the lack of killer instinct makes the Raven's mediocre. Dont' expect Lamar Jackson to come back to his dashing dancing days. They are over. He played a pretty good game not running. He played well enough to win, but he also made his share of mistakes. He always will. That fucker RayRayRaven, wanted Sam Darnold over Jackson. What the fuck does he know. Darnold will go one and done in the Playoffs.
You’re an idiot

What's sad is the team was saw in Week 17 wasn't really any different than the one in Week 1. The team in either one of those weeks could've beat any opponent. But both times they found a way to choke. This team has done nothing but choke for a few years now and this season was pretty egregious. Like it happened immediately and was never overcome.

Tyler Loop is a bad football player who ended our season. With that being said I feel for the guy because on top of what he's feeling, people are already sending him death threats.

It's one thing to complain with your boys, it's another thing to be a fucking psycho.
Where did you read/hear about the death threats?

Started the year having our hearts ripped out on SNF and ended it the same way

I can see it both ways.

On Monken’s side, the offense was anemic after the first drive until he pulled his head out of his ass in the 4th quarter. And I feel like it’s been the story for most of the season - there’s some genius in there but it’s hard to overlook the ineptitude elsewhere.

On Orr’s side, the defense dropped the ball after Hamilton went out but he’s not the one out there missing tackles. He hasn’t had the pass rush horses to succeed either. But he’s also had some dogshit vanilla calls that are obvious layups for the opposition.

If a scenario happens where both get fired, you might as well just clean house at that point.
If we're going to give Orr a pass for poor tackling, Monken dealt with poor execution, too. Keaton Mitchell dropping a long pass down the sidelines. Multiple holds taking away first downs. It didn't matter, but Ronnie Stanley's illegal formation penalty negating a Mark Andrews first.

And with Orr, I can absolutely sympathize with the lack of a pass rush, but the defense still has extremely well paid players at all levels of the defense and has invested heavy draft capital into all three levels.

I never thought Orr would be 2023 McDonald, but the defense is far too unreliable and playing too far below expectations given the abundance of talent and resources that are routinely poured into that side of the ball.

A mishit. Not like he just didn’t have the leg. Just didn’t hit it cleanly. I know that’s been the biggest part of the problem in his development.

In short, he was a leg swinger. When they try to make the motion more compact, that changes the plant foot and sends what he’s done his whole life out of whack.

They took a big swing on being able to correct all of this stuff quickly.

Lamar trying his hardest not to cuss out Jamison lmao

Anyone else feel a huge weight lift off their shoulders? Man I feel so much better knowing this seasons over.
Not yet. Maybe in a couple of days or whatever. This game is the latest example of why I absolutely LOATHE night primetime games. Having to wait all day to lose yet another close heartbreaker is the worst especially when the game was beyond winnable and you got to wake up early for work the next morning.

Also we go all year as one of the least penalized teams in football all to throw it away tonight
I was actually chuckling a little bit when they called the Stanley illegal formation penalty after which both he and Rosengarten proceeded to line up even further back that Stanley was on the one that got called.

Yes!

I have to wake up by 4 am, but here I am, texting about these losers.
