2026 Offseason Thread

I would love to take this approach, especially if we bring back Lindy

it's likely that 1 of Alijah Vera-Tucker or John Simpson are not going to be re-signed by the Jets
i'd expect the Texans to want to re-sign Ed Ingram
i'd expect the Bills to want to re-sign David Edwards

other guys who might be available:
Under 30:

Zion Johnson
Connor McGovern
Jamaree Salyer

Over 30:
Isaac Seumalo

idk that there's going to be that many guys available... as per usual
and im not letting Linderbaum leave just to pay one of these guys
and these guys are gonna get fairly big money i reckon

like it's a nice thought but idk if there's any kevin zeitlers out there (except for Kevin Zeitler but he's like 36 years old now)

Idk who the next coach is gonna be but hopefully they unleash this man (peep the top right)

i do get why
but does seem crazy that your team is lacking pressure and you effectively bench the only interior guy who offers you any sort of pass rush wins

they obviously missed madubuike (who wouldnt?) but they stopped using one of the better options for helping replace him in the aggregate

I get it but also don't. Like yeah maybe he's not great against the run but at least he's good against the pass. Meanwhile, we were playing guys that were below average at both.

I don’t get why. We had Jones, Brody and Jenkins up already. I would assume that’s enough bodies to stop the run. Bring me that pass rush specialist for critical 3rd and longs. I hated every time I seen him inactive for the practice squad dudes.

It was definitely overkill on the run stuffing. Jones and Jenkins obviously offered a bit more than that, but then you had Urban and Okoye who were basically just that. Then sometimes they'd double down with Bryan or Tupou.

I actually had greater problems with it late in the season when we were trotting Ojabo out there over Peebles, even though that's a different position obviously. Ojabo was literally playing like 3 ST snaps and 2 defensive snaps some games, so you can't tell me he was more valuable than Peebles for 5 snaps a game.

I maintain my opinion that he and Orr should have been sacked mid season.

Another BIG indictment on Harbaugh. He has done this forever. Many awful experiments with draft picks, getting first round picks injured on special teams despite being a much needed starter(Jimmy smith), not starting players who are clear upgrades based on pro film we’ve already seen, certain players inexplicably inactive for long stretches.

He’s played a lot of stupid ass games in this regard. The over emphasis on run stuffing defenders when we are absolutely desperate for pass rush and have pass rushers inactive, is just typical Harbaugh shit.

Keaton Mitchell and peebles had no business being inactive as many as they were

i understand the argument that why would you activate a guy just to play 12 snaps a game on 3rd downs and obvious passing situations
but we did that for some other guys anyway who were not as good in those situations

was this Harbaughs or Orr's doing.

Exactly.

How crucial were those 12 snaps for the butterball turkey built mfs who got no rush at all on a million 3rd and longs and our DBs get fucking dunked on, over and over

i get it with CJ Okoye
but why are josh tupou and taven bryan playing snaps? they dont offer you any upside in running or passing situations

I got it with Okoye early... but it felt like he just hit a wall after a few weeks and didn't really get any better either

Just felt weird that they weren't playing Peebles because he wasn't good against the run, yet kept trotting guys out there that were just okay at that and still not good against the pass. Don't really understand why the run was more important than the pass, but whatever. New coach who dis

I know a lot of the questions in today's presser will rightfully be centered around the failures of the season and the coaching search, but curious if today is the day we got any tiny bit of clarity on Madubuike.

it's the offseason now, surely we have to find out something - at least whether he's in their plans for 2026 and beyond (if nothing else specific about what the injury/problem is)
