Ricard is pretty critical it would seem to our team.

Stout, Ricard, Linderbaum are the critical ones, I'd say.

After them, the "really want back" would be: Kolar, Jones, Huntley, Awuzie

It would be nice to get back Wallace, too.

Top Priority:
Linderbaum
Ricard

Would be good to re-sign:
Huntley
Kolar
Stout

If the price is right:
Ar'Darius Washington
Dre'Mont Jones
Chidobe Awuzie

Looking at the contracts of those guys who are potential cut candidates:
Marlo and Roquan's cap hits balloon massively - if you can designate them as post-june 1st cuts then you save a ton more cap space but obviously you don't get to benefit from that in free agency - but you've got to make a decision on those guys pretty soon - you could potentially extend one of them to keep them around longer term and massage those cap numbers (Roquan would be the more obvious of the two to keep around)
The rest of those guys are guys you can make decisions on later

obviously it would be ideal if we could get an extension done with lamar for cap space

As much as I want Marlon gone, not sure because maybe he rebounds next year. He alternates between these good and bad years.

With that said, he was terrible this year.

I agree on Linderbaum & Ricard. I'd say Stout is there too for some consistency on ST and I doubt it will be hard to keep him. He is easy imho.

I'd definitely keep Awuzie over Humphrey.

I'd also like Hopkins back, but on a reasonable contract.

Could argue he cost us the game tho

Awuzie? Nah and even if he did he did enough good during the game and throughout the year
That’s the part that frustrates me, a year that was far better than we could’ve ever expected and all anyone’s gonna remember is him biting on a double move to lose the game

Yeah that’s true. Even then he really just slipped. It sucks but one of those things you can’t really be furious about. If someone slips I don’t get too upset there because who knows what that field was like.

My opinion on the UFA list...

Priority:
Linderbaum

Would re-sign pending contract:
Awuzie, Gilman/Washington, Hummel, Huntley, Jones, Kolar, Ricard, Stout

Let walk:
Bryan, Faalele, Hopkins, Likely, Noteboom, Ojabo, Urban, Van Noy, Wallace, Washington/Gilman

I’d be there with you on Ricard but the offense wasn’t good without him. Now can you replicate that through the draft? Sure you could but I think he has a lot of value here with us or LAC.

I somehow glossed over Hummel. I’d agree that he’s someone I’d also like to bring back. And it would also be good to bring back one of Gilman or Washington. With KVN and Urban, I think both would be nice to return but we need to get younger. I’d only consider bringing back KVN if we’ve gotten another guy there or two.

Why we need to not overpay for a QB. Do you know how many of the top 10 paid QBs have Super Bowl wins? Do you know how much we were paying our QBs when we won our Super Bowls? No one player is worth that much money on a team that needs many great players to win. Tom Brady never took the big money when in NE during his great run. Do you know why?
Patrick Mahomes, shoot I think he is 14th highest paid QB? He understands how to win. A great QB looks a lot better when his team is better. We can't overspend at the QB position we would be better off losing a great QB then overpaying for one. We might do better in the long run. I would love to talk about this more, but this is my cliff notes on my opinion.

I guess Ricard could easily go up a category, but he's a FB so it's not going to be a hard contract to get done if they want to keep him around, so I don't consider that a "priority" necessarily.

I’m going to kill myself if we retain Harbaugh and then re-sign Faalele

The future disdain that will be had for Mark Andrews is going to be incredible. The guy is the all time leading receiver for the team and I guarantee he's going to be absolutely hated next year.

Mahomes was given a ten year, 450 million contract with a lot of it upfront, and very high guarantees. It wasn't him caring about championships, or being a team player. It was letting him have guaranteed near half billion over a decade, and being in full control of all contract negotiations for a decade. You are screwed if you give that deal to anyone that isn't an all time great.

Also over the next two years his cap hit raises, and he'll be about a quarter of their cap while they're trying to rebuild.
