2026 Offseason Thread

I think we need to keep Marlon Humphrey. Cutting him and saving 7m plus having to replace him isn't beneficial. He was a 1st team All Pro in 2024 and I'd suspect he will fit in with Jesse Minter well. It would be more beneficial for the Ravens to just let his contract expire at the end of the 2027 season if we don't want to bring him back. He has 3 void years starting in 2027 and there is no need to do a june 1 and increase the 11m dead cap in 2027 on Humphrey.

That beign said, I think he fits very well with Minter and I've also heard from Zrebiec that they have reached out.

26m cap hit
15m in non-guaranteed salary

if he takes a paycut then he sure he's definitely staying

but even with the 7m - ravens have been able to find better play than 2025 Marlon for a lot less than 7m... obviously the hope is that you get the all-pro (or close to) marlo that you seem to get every other year

I still think the fall off from 1st team all pro to how bad he was this year has a lot to do with Orr and less to do with Marlon.

yes he was but I'm not buying he fell off a cliff all by his doing. I'm not saying he wasn't somewhat at fault but I believe it was Orr putting him in bad position this year that screwed him up and a multitude of players.
The lack of long speed this year was glaring. Not sure he's as bad as he was in 2025, but hard to say his best days aren't behind him.

I do agree his best days are behind him, but I believe he still can be a good player if used properly.

might be a better fit for what minter wants to do on the backend

but yeah the long-speed just isnt there anymore which is fine if we're talking about him as CB2/3 (which he is) but you dont pay those guys 15m in cash let alone a 26m cap hit

I've been a big Marlo's fan since college (obviously) but I reckon it's time to cut losses. It's not only the long speed but it could be the reason he lost confidence, which led to a ton of arm "tackles", too. Often confused when playing in a slot, leaving his guy uncovered but that definitely can be at least in part due to Orr.

I trust Minter to make the right call on this. If we use him, he will know how to best use him.

I lay no claim to any sadness if it doesn't happen. A Lamar deal is basically a necessity for it even to be an option. But the interest is there. We'll see how realistic it actually is.
It makes a lot of sense because Hendrickson has been great and always been a torn for us. It would also mean we could address edge without any huge weaknesses in the Draft

With that said, I just wonder if he was injured or just tired of the Bengals and quit on them this year. Either way, that does give me some caution but it is the Bengals so I can’t really blame him

The thing with Marlon is he’s always been an odd player, he’s got things he does really well that make him a good football player but he’s got weaknesses that you don’t wanna see in a cb, and losing a step in long speed does not pair well at all with what he struggles with. It’s a compounding effect.

I still like him as a slot, and it might actually be time to consider sTrOnG sAfEty

I don’t think he tackles well enough to play it

Now that i think about it.. we have a lot to work on this offseason. I dnt think we win SB this upcoming season but 2nd season we should be more prepared to do so if our new coaches are good. I dont think we should sign vets who only got 1yr left in them

Felt like slot is where he was at his absolute best

It's hard to make a case that either SB team was in a better spot at this time last year than the Ravens are now.
