Damn Eagles might be in trouble. What’s going on in Philly?

I mean, while he's still a good player, Lane Johnson turns 36 in May. That guy has been on retirement watch for like 2-3 years now.
Dickerson would be surprising based on age, but Oline notoriously have surgeries damn near every year and he's torn both ACL's

Lane Johnson may be 36, but he is still one of the best pass blockers in the league. It would be a loss if he retires.

I agree. I'm just saying his retirement wouldn't shock anybody. He's been pondering it like every offseason for a couple years now. Plenty of guys retire when they're still "good enough to play".

Dickerson has had a full essay of injuries and surgeries. The man is perpetually injured and the tush push didn't do his body any favors.

If he wants to even remotely be able to walk in the future, he'll be hanging it up soon.

Yeah if this Lamar contract gets done, this is gonna be a very different offseason than we’re used to
I don't know that this is the year anything changes, but it feels like it's coming soon. Steve is clearly frustrated by being a perennial contender with nothing to show for it. He wants to win before he bows out and he's made that known publicly and internally.

right player
right price

now maybe that means taking more gambles on some higher ceiling but riskier free agents - and following the eagles blueprint of taking lots of bets because you only need a few to pay off to reap major rewards

but i dont see us suddenly overpaying external free agents

Yeah I should be clear... I don't see us overpaying, but I would expect a little more aggressiveness than we've seen in the past.

That's why I don't know that I expect it this year. We aren't coming off of a year in which I'd say FAs are going to flock here to win a SB and take a discount to do so. But if we get back to what we can be and you want to play in the top of the market for a guy or two, you get that selling point in a couple of years if you feel there's a guy that can get you over that hump.

and guys start thinking they can rehab their market value here
take a 1 year incentive-heavy deal and try and hit the market again in a year with much higher value
