2026 Offseason Thread

Another player. What's your game?
In casinos, pretty much anything. Was in Delaware playing BJ and UTH most of the weekend.
Poker-wise, i'll pay either 2/5 or 5/10 NL, and occasionally PLO in MD if I'm around. They don't have much PLO in Virginia, and MGM in DC pretty much like 5 card Omaha for some reason.

Surprised you get consistent 5/10 there. In South Florida where there are tons of players and dont see it at my nearest spot often. Can find them at hard rock tho. Didn't think you'd play PLO.

Consistent 5/10 is basically non-existent on the east coast outside of the large areas (DC/Maryland, AC, Florida to a lower level). Being based in VA, I play in a lot of those rooms and occasionally MGM, and you'll basically never see a 5/10 game in VA except rare one's on a Saturday night.

2/5 is basically the "high end". But again, those guys ain't close to rich. Most are playing well above their bankroll and will only have a few thousand spendable in those games. In your smaller casinos, those are basically ultra-conservative games.

MGM National Harbor in DC and Live in MD tend to get a lot of Pros and frequently run higher limit games regularly compared to pretty much anywhere except CA or Vegas.

For whatever reason didn't expect a lot of pros in your area

I can tell from years of just seeing you talk on a message board that you are the epitome of a 1-3 player. Ain't nobody rich at 2/5.
when i say rich, im talking like sitting down at the table and guys got like 10k stacks.. or when they lose, they pull out a bunch of 1k chips and buy in with one…thats enough to bully others out of their position…however, there are in fact rich people that play 2/5 poker.

@Simba Not sure if the schedule is something your guy may be in the know of but just curious. The Ravens potentially could play an international game in 2026. Our two chances of that are Dallas in Rio De Janeiro or the Falcons in Madrid, Spain.

Could those games end up being international games?

I could not care less about schedule stuff so literally never asked him and no idea if he knows. But lots of rumors about outside of my connect that Brazil seems plausible.

In Virginia, there aren't. The Pros I was referring to mainly are in NoVa, DC, Southern MD area. The bigger games are at MGM and Live. Where I live (Richmond area), it's a two-hour drive currently to any poker room. MGM is 2 hours, Rivers in Portsmouth is 2 hours, and Caesars in Danville is about 2.5 hours. Been to all three plenty of times. Rivers and Caesars are old-man-coffee rooms, especially during the daytime. Action gets better at night but those rooms don't get 5/10 games often. MGM is effectively ground zero for poker on the East Coast.
