2026 Offseason Thread

Let's see but again, I dont see how you add to many vets without cutting your draft picks from this year or last
I mean, 5th round or later usually isn’t a guarantee. Think a few absolutely will make it but I don’t think they’re going to lose sleep if a Benny or Beerntsen don’t make it.

And it’s also a good problem to have. If the rookies step up, maybe some of those borderline vets go to the PS. If they don’t step up, it’s a good thing to have those borderline vets.

I know we're being somewhat facetious but Clowney probably ain't a thing anymore with Zion Young on the roster, and DJ Reader may be getting more money from the terrorist up in NY
Hear anything about Njoku or did drafting 2 tight ends end that convo?

Haven't heard anything since, but know they told him before the draft that it was nearing decision time, and drafting 2 guys seems to indicate he didn't make one. Would be surprised if they're still overly interested at this point but I'll never say never.

I still think clowney would have a nice spot on this roster, we only added one edge in the draft and we definitely had room for more than one

I don’t like Zion kicking inside to pass rush, watching his tape I think he firmly belongs no lower than a 5 tech and if you want interior rush from him then stunt him inside, but I don’t think he’s gonna hold up lined up at the 3. Clowney on the other hand, is an absolute animal rushing from the 3.

I keep saying it and will happily be wrong, but I think this roster is closer to it's final form than people think
I think they're definitely at the "ride it out and see what the rookies do" stage but I think a vet or two on either side of the trenches is still very much in the cards at a minimum, and they'll probably add some competition elsewhere later in the summer. See it being very unlikely that they walk into training camp with 31/90 spots being rookies. There's getting younger but there's also sacrificing the possibility of real depth with the number of late round picks and UDFAs that aren't far from roster spots.

I don’t think so. I think we make at least one moderate FA signing in the next week or so and I wouldn’t be shocked to see a smallish trade in the summer like a Calais Campbell caliber trade

I just don't see it at this point. They have a top 4 that are all going to play a lot of snaps. The competition will be with Isaac for a potential 5th spot. I don't think that's going to be a guy that doesn't play ST. Think they could add a veteran in season but they want those 4 guys playing.

Yeah I don’t see it happening, just my personal wants

Dam so nobody like tavius no more? I remember he had like 3 free sacks that one game and we thought he was the one
Tavius has been bad his entire time here. I know others are going to say he plays his role well and that's fine. But his role is disciplined edge setter with nearly no pass rush juice. If he's the last player or so in your EDGE room, great. If he's starting, you have a real problem. Have no idea what EDC was thinking taking a Canadian with only 1 year of low production college football experience.

Edit: In case you're interested, he was the 8th worst EDGE by PFF last year.
