He's falling to #45. Do we take him there?
he would definitely be a great pick at 45
i think he's probably going to get picked in R1 somewhere though - maybe early 2 at the latest

I count round 3 as mid... you dont? lol
Fano at 14 is happeningOL measurements coming in...
the main interesting ones from the upper echelon guys:
Spencer Fano 32 1/8" arm length is short at OT
Chase Bisontis 31 3/4" arm length is short at OG
Kadyn Proctor weighing in at 352lbs
Vega with 32 3/4" arms - not bad just wasn't expecting it to be sub 33"
Mauigoa with 33 1/4" arms is good for him - was concerned he would come in shorter
Freeling comes in with basically a dream profile: 6'7, 315lbs, 34 3/4" arms
a few OL with shorter arms to varying degrees (other than bisontis) - these guys were all sub-32" arm lengths:
Pat Coogan, C
Sam Hecht, C
Logan Jones, C (sub 31")
Beau Stephens, OG
Alex Harkey, OT
Fano at 14 is happening
I would be so happy.Fano at 14 is happening
Doesnt this always happen though? at pro day, team personnel and coaches gonna do the measurements so ofcourse the players gonna benefit from it. I mean everyone already knew which guys had shorts arms and that was proven at combine so like it is what is.. i dont know how much longer their arms would be at pro day but i dnt think anyone is that naive to believe certain guys who got short arms all of sudden dont got short arms anymore once they get measured at their prodays
The combine has become kind of worthless to be honest. Measurements and testing don't really matter because teams are going to move the needle to where they need it to be. I mean, Carnell Tate literally ran a laser timed 4.53 and teams have already come out and said their hand times have him in the 4.4s. He's good. That's all that matters. And Tate is far from the only guy that'll benefit elsewhere.Doesnt this always happen though? at pro day, team personnel and coaches gonna do the measurements so ofcourse the players gonna benefit from it. Hand times are always faster though like always. Tate has football speed so 40 time dont really matter for him.The combine has become kind of worthless to be honest. Yep more just getting at the idea that none of this really matters for the top guys. Teams will move the goalposts where they need to move them if they like a guy. Probably much more impactful for a guy that's borderline draftable if they come in and flub something, but sometimes that's actually a blessing in disguise.think that's as much an agent doing media damage control (which is ridiculous because 4.53 is plenty fast) than it is teams actually coming out to change the narrative
most of the main pro days do laser times anyway
and the combine does full laser times (starter as well as finish) that they don't release to the public for some reason too
they've almost all got the GPS data too
but yeah teams are definitely picking how they do things
specifically with regard to arm length DJ has spoken a bunch of times that some teams take the best measurement, some take the worst, some average them all out - but im sure theyve all got various models that take into account environmental and measuring factors (again DJ has talked in the past about how they used to write down the 40 time and also the surface it was run on)
I know he’s been listed as a OT but I’ve loved him as a G this whole time and falling short of typical OT benchmarks just might push him into first round G range and he’d be an all pro G in my eyes.would be fine by me
top 11 prospect for me
I’d be thrilled with Fano at 14.I know he’s been listed as a OT but I’ve loved him as a G this whole time and falling short of typical OT benchmarks just might push him into first round G range and he’d be an all pro G in my eyes.
wow lol
It’s who I’ve hoped for this whole timeI’d be thrilled with Fano at 14.
