This dude is powerful! Proper Ravens type EDGE.

Proper strong-side defensive end.
Heavy hands.
Dominant run defender.
Power rushing.

IIRC i think he led the FBS in TFLs in 2025.

Nailed this pick i think!

Love that Young brings something different to the group we have now. Hendrickson as an all around good pass rusher, Green with the athleticism, and now Young with the pure brute strength.

Tavius spells Hendrickson on early downs
and Young and Green get to stay fresh as well

and if Young can reduce inside at all - you get a nice racecar package like when we had ZDS and McPhee as the EDGE3

I like his alpha dog attitude. He has that Maxx Crosby swagger on the field. I love this pick. He isn't terrible at athleticism, but he is a little bit limited. But this man can play the run and can pursue the QB like a mad man kinda like Maxx. He's not the same guy, as Maxx tested better, but I can see this guy becoming special.

Dude's got an interesting (in a good way) personality too. Feels like a future fan favorite.

The foundational pieces of a really good player are already in place with Zion
and in terms of attitude, he only knows one way... he's all aggression and violence

he's got power and length to really challenge tackles - can really stack and shed guys in the run game and get into OTs chests to control them

his speed to power is so explosive and scary - if he can work off that power/long-arm more consistently to add counters and changeups, i think there's some real pass rush juice to unlock too on top of just the "run through a motherfucker's face" stuff

He reminds me more of Za Darius than McPhee, but I love the choice.
He has all the physical qualities we like
I hear you, but I do think McPhee is more comparable because I think Zion is a more natural bender than ZDS was coming out.

It’s weird because McPhee was more of a DL coming out and ZDS was already an edge, but ZDS had more of a DL skillset than McPhee by the time they were both developed.

But Zion is definitely in the mold of either of those guys.

Clowney is another comparable one.
