Around the NFL: News and Rumors

Big Ben being a drama queen as usual. Questioning the decision to draft Mason Rudolph and asking how it helps the Steelers win now.

"So, I was surprised when they took a quarterback," Roethlisberger said Friday, "because I thought that maybe in the third round, you can get some really good football players that can help this team now. And nothing against Mason, I think he's a great football player ... I just don't know how backing up or being the third guy, who knows where he's going to fall on the depth chart, but helps us win now.""So, I was surprised when they took a quarterback," Roethlisberger said Friday, "because I thought that maybe in the third round, you can get some really good football players that can help this team now. You should've known that the Eagles were going to retaliate lol.

They didn’t just retaliate though lol - they straight up murdered everyone in Dallas - the eagles could go 0-16 for the next 2 years and still nothing Dallas does would be as good as the everything the eagles did between those 2 drafts

Is there a bigger power flex than winning a Super Bowl with a backup qb?

Ehhh, what if for some reason, the Boys won the chip in the next two seasons? I'm sure that would constitute being more than good enough to what the Eagles did in the draft.

And to answer your other question? Yes. Win a Super Bowl with a 3rd string QB or a punter playing QB. If some team did that, they should go down as one of the best teams in NFL history bar none.

I think the 2000 Ravens might have been able to beat the Giants with the Punter at QB. Not like Dilfer was much better.

He's becoming like Jerry for wanting to make a smart move? Okay..
I agree, it would have been a smart move. Minkah is good, but I think he got overhyped a bit. Wonder if it was the Chargers wanting to trade up for him, considering they wanted a safety.

Also the other reason he wanted to trade down was to penny pinch and save money on the player they would have picked after trading down. I mean why have football people if your going to over rule them and be like hey, trade down I want to save money and be cheap. You let your football people run that aspect of it and stay out of it. That's why the Cowboys have been terrible since JJ left, because Jerry thought he knew everything even though JJ was the true genius.

Another reason I love Biscotti, he doesn't mingle in the football stuff and lets Ozzie and Eric and the football people within the castle handle the football stuff.

Okay, now I see what it's a bad move. Rookie contracts are relatively cheap compared to vets, so trading down to save money is a horrible move.

Alvin Kamara's fantasy stock just went up a ton. Mark Ingram has been suspended 4 Games for PED Violation.

alvin kamara's stock couldnt have been higher to me anyway lol - ingram was already looking like number 2 on that depth chart and he'll still be number 2 on that depth chart when he returns - kamara is my favourite player to watch in the league already despite having only played a season in the NFL (Juju might have also been up there if he wasnt a steeler lol)

has there ever been as many good running backs at one time in the nfl like there is now?
David johnson
Bell
Gurley
Zeke
Hunt
Kamara
Mccoy
Gordon
Freeman.. probably left out a few

2003:
Jamal Lewis
Ahman Green
LT
Deuce McAllister
Clinton Portis
Fred Taylor
Stephen Davis
Shaun Alexander
Ricky Williams
Eddie George
Priest Holmes
Edgerrin James
Anthony Thomas

And some other pretty good ones. Counting just rushing yards, 18 runningbacks had over a thousand yards. More if you're looking at total yards from scrimmage.
