Around the NFL: News and Rumors

Saw something on Twitter from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that a team who has a Head Coach in place has already made a call about McCarthy.

Murphy also says McCarthy will be “a strong candidate” for other jobs. I said earlier on The Aftermath at least one team with a head coach in place has already made a call about McCarthy today. He’ll be in the mix.

Jets? Browns? Bucs? Cardinals?
LMAO, it's gonna be the Browns.

Browns working on hiring Mike McCarthy as next head coach, per @FanSided http://go.si.com/xZdd9UY

Kareem Hunt actually cleared waivers and is now a free agent. Seems teams learned from the bad PR the Redskins got from claiming Foster.

Well here's one rule I never knew existed in the NFL rule book. According to Dean Blandino and Mike Pereira, the refs could have awarded points to the Chargers due to the excessive offsides.

“There is something in the rulebook that I don’t know if a lot of people know about: There is a penalty for continually fouling to prevent a score,” Blandino said.

Pereira said in situations like the game last night, the rules allow for the referee to just give the team the points.

“If you deem that they intentionally did this, intentionally fouled on successive plays . . . the referee could in fact award a score,” Pereira said. “Successive penalties intentionally committed to try to prevent a score, you can go ahead and award a score.”

Alright change of game plan..... send Tucker out there when we get close and make the opposing teams jump offsides three times and let the officials award us points all game.

If Tucker wasn't more than mortal, I'd agree.

NFL investigating three Kareem Hunt incidents

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the NFL is taking into account three separate off-the-field incidents as it considers how long free agent Kareem Hunt's suspension will be.

The NFL is investigating Hunt's February altercation with a woman that led to his release from the Chiefs as well as a June incident with a man and a previously undisclosed incident from January. Per Graziano, the January and June incidents are the "types of aggravating factors that can lead the league to impose a suspension longer than the six-game baseline." Hunt's 2018 suspension is going to spill over deep into 2019.

So.....all of a sudden they're NOW looking at other past transgressions? I just don't get the timing of this.

They wait until someone else embarrass them(TMZ) and then they act on something. Hunt would still be a Chief and played against the Raiders and would play against us if this video didn't come out.
