Around the NFL: News and Rumors

Other from horrible coaching, I honestly don't know the answer to that question.

That’s the thing all the fans pointing at the front office for not taking a qb have a point but that’s not why they are awful - that’s just why they’re not good

There are lots of good players in that Cleveland roster who just aren’t playing well individually or as a unit so I have to think it’s about a lack of good leadership or as you said bad coaching

It’s not like they didn’t invest in qb at all either - kizer was a great looking pick in the 2nd round and I’d want to give that front office at least one more year - if they were to get a top 2 pick this year and not take a qb now that they have other talent on the team you have to think then they might be part of the problem but I think they’ve mostly done ok

Either that or the club is still haunted by being built on top of an Indian burial ground

I know right... when a team is rebuilding under a new coach the biggest thing is progress over record. Yes, your going to take losses and have losing seasons but throughout the losing seasons what progress was made to say that this guy is the coach to turn things around? Look at the Jets, everyone predicted them to be 0-16, Todd Bowles to be fired but not only are they overachieving but you see the progress being made under Bowles. When I look at Cleveland, I see 0 progress under Hue.
With Cleveland it’s much more than wins, losses and scouting. No question they play a big role. However imo It’s about changing the culture and that us the hardest thing to do for any team.

Andrew Luck already ruled out for Week 9. Also hearing a ton of TY Hilton to the Browns rumors as well.

TY Hilton is a guy I’d really love but there is no way we fit him under the cap. If Hilton goes to the Browns we may never hear his name again.

Just one day after he played his first game of the season vs Seahawks, Duane Brown, Texans OT has been traded to.....wait......
Seahawks.

Also interesting - from Rotoworld:
Vikings claimed RB Mack Brown off waivers from the Redskins.

An annual preseason star in Washington, Brown will add depth to the Vikings' backfield behind all-purpose maven Jerick McKinnon and interior runner Latavius Murray, who has struggled in all but one game this season.

Good trade for both, Seattle gets much needed OL help and Houston adds some corner depth in Jeremy Lane and extra draft picks as well.

I would love to have him too but if he isn't willing to re-do his contract then no way he comes here. I wouldn't say it's a fire sale but new GM Chris Ballard is undoing some bad moves made by Grigson. Not only is Hilton available but also CB Vontae Davis and they have suitors for RB Frank Gore as well.
