So Brock Osweiler gets benched in favor of Manning who was benched (if memory serves correctly) in favor of Osweiler. DEN no longer wants him, gets signed to HOU and doesn't do shit over there. Gets traded to CLE only to get released because....Osweiler. Gets signed by DEN again and after a couple of games, he gets benched in favor of one Paxton Lynch. Osweiler can hold all kinds of Ls right now.

it's worse though, he initially only got the denver start because manning was injured, he asked for too much money from elway after manning retired so he didnt get any from denver, houston gave him a lot of money but literally traded him away to save some of that money, the browns only traded for him because houston was willing to give away a 2nd round pick just to get rid of him, cleveland literally cared not a jot if osweiler was on their team and only pretended like he was in the starting qb hunt to see if they could get another pick out of him, he gets released, he gets picked up for less than $1 mill for 1 year to come in as the backup qb to the broncos only because their 2nd year qb (who's pretty much a rookie and who lost a camp battle to siemian and by all accounts was not ready to play) got injured, siemian had to literally shit the bed to finally be replaced by osweiler, osweiler comes in and loses 3 games in a row and gets the OC fired, only for it to turn out he was literally just a holdover until lynch was deemed healthy enough to start

and so the saga continues as he now backs up said 2nd year qb

Cleveland also had too much space free in salary cap, they had to go over the minimum.

My favorite memory of him was a game when the Broncos were blowing a team out. Brock grabbed his helmet because he thought he could get some playing time, and then Manning ran passed him onto the field. Brock's look of disappointment was hilarious.

Needless to say, it's over for him. He's only good enough to be........a third-stringer.

Remember when Elway pursued Peyton Manning? Starting to think Elway and the Broncos will be the number one suitor that is willing to throw everything out there for Kirk Cousins come March.

That’s an interesting thought. I’ve come up with scenarios around the league and the Broncos isn’t one of them. I defintislu could see this happening.

I still think Kirk goes to SF IMO.

financially it likely cant happen given that they will have to pay/franchise jimmy g and then also pay a fortune for kirk cousins if they want him too

Has San Fran paid Jimmy G yet. i don't think they have. I could see the Niners trading Jimmy G and a draft pick to the Skins for Cousins. Of course contracts would have to be worked out prior. Oh sure you could franchise them and trade them, but you'd want to have contract parameters in place first.

im just not sure it makes sense - jimmy g is in san francisco because he was shanahan's guy in that draft class and unless he looks like a bust (in which case washington wont want him) he's not gonna be sent away and this is even if the trade was really functionally possible

the problem for this situation to actually happen is that both players would need to be under contract which would require cousins to take a huge contract from the redskins that likely has an enormous amount of guaranteed money (otherwise why is he signing it?) and jimmy g would have to be franchise tagged or also agree a long term contract with some guaranteed money - both teams create a lot of dead money for themselves in this scenario + it might be gm suicide to pay a qb longterm and immediately trade him and a pick away + the pick you already traded away to get him in the first place...

holy crap darelle revis just signed with the chiefs - he literally was being paid $6million by the jets not to play - wow
That's a weird one. Don't think he will be huge help based on how he played last.

Some more interesting stuff:

Detroit picked up Freeny off waivers (Dwight says "Hi, James")
Niners keep Beathard as a starting QB
Brady also dealing with achilles but should play vs Miami

freeney was playing well rotationally for seattle so the weird thing here is that they released him in the first place - him getting claimed by someone is a no brainer
niners sticking with beathard makes some sense given that he just led them to their first win and also i wouldnt want my potential future franchise qb's first game to be against seattle

the crazier thing about darelle revis is that he's not a 1 year mercenary here, he's been given a 2 year deal...

I don't believe they can franchize Cousins for a 3rd year.

Kyle Shanahan was in Cleveland in 2014. Are you saying he wanted him back then. Yes it’s possible and I also don’t think the jimmy g for Shanahan trade goes down. However I am keeping it in the back of my head for the time being. He loved Cousins during his time in Washington before being fired Long with his dad.

Im not saying actually sign a contract but work out the parameters, After franchising the player, Each team would allow the players agents to talk with their future teams work out a trade.
