Around the NFL: News and Rumors

Cardinals are on a full rebuild here going into 2018. Going to be interesting what they do at QB now.

So Jay Gruden and Jon Gruden could possibly be battling to hire the same coaches? What a world eh...

and my reaction to this is that they should hire 1 ryan brother each

interesting from rapsheet to rich eisen:
suggestions that both harbaughs were enquired about by various teams - jim was approached by at least a couple of nfl franchises but obviously is happy at michigan (a team will really have to financially - or otherwise - blow him out of the water to get him back in the nfl) and apparently teams were asking rapsheet whether he'd heard anything about john to which he said no but that obviously suggests that there are teams outside the ravens who were wondering whether the ravens might consider cutting ties with harbs

Harbaugh would be flying for his first visit within 24 hours lol

so... interesting that the lions have interviewed both jim bob cooter and teryl austin for head coach - if one of them gets the job will the other be happy working below the other? i just wonder about that potential dynamic and whether it means that one or both of these guys are leaving the lions - i have to think though that the lions would be stupid to allow jim bob cooter to leave the building given how he's taken matthew stafford to a new level

We all new this but Ray Lewis is officially first ballot Hall Of Fame
Congrats Ray!

per zrebiec:

Former Ravens MLB Ray Lewis makes cut as a Hall of Fame finalist. His candidacy will be up for discussion the night before the Super Bowl and it probably won't be a long discussion. He's viewed as a near lock.

lol i didnt even notice that you said he was in - i just added the zrebiec post because of the way he framed the candidacy discussion (and when it was happening) - i legit didnt even register that what you said was inaccurate lol

Vikings OC Pat Shurmur has a very busy week during the Vikings BYE week. He has four interviews scheduled, Lions and Cardinals on Thursday. Bears on Friday and Giants on Saturday, all interviews will take place in Minnesota. With Keenum, Bridgewater and Bradford all FAs you have to imagine if he goes to say Arizona one of those 3 would be the starter in 2018 for the Cardinals.

Incredible. Marvin Lewis survived in Cincinnati longer than Carson Palmer’s entire career.

I didn’t realise this until now but James Harrison had 2 sacks for the pats last week... classic pats move

Despite my hatred for them I really am now kind of rooting for the pats to take out the steelers because I want Harrison to beat them lol
