Around the NFL: News and Rumors

No Brett Favre like drama from Big Ben this year. Big Ben has stated he plans on playing in 2018.

"I have a desire to play football," Roethlisberger said. "I don't know about [player] contracts, who's coming back, but I know the guys up front are, and that makes it good for me. And I look forward to next year with those guys."

Going to be interesting considering Ian Rapoport said the team's relationship with OC Todd Haley is at a "crossroads". So that means Haley may not be back and learning a new offense for the Steelers.

The stoolers would be crazy to let something serious go on with todd haley, we'll see.
their biggest factor will be shazier...he may have played his last game.
We play them tough, but just can't see us improving enough next year to change things up with them.

i think haley was gone anyway which is crazy given that big ben has played his best football under haley

Campbell really said this in the interview last week:

"We'll do whatever it takes, we're trying to win whatever way we can, one play at a time and executing and all," Campbell told Pelissero. "I'll take 2-0 if it comes our way or 45-42 if it comes our way. As long as we win, I'm happy."

HOLY SHIT: BOMBSHELL:

The Titans announce they have fired coach Mike Mularkey. Unreal.

GM Jon Robinson and CEO Steve Underwood told coach Mike Mularkey before the game and told him they were extended him and he was their guy. They said they'd get it done after the game. Now this.

The Titans planned to fire Mike Mularkey after Week 17. Then after the playoff loss that never came. It was all about Josh McDaniels. Now, the Colts and the Titans may battle it out for him...

all from rapsheet...

unbelievable

More from Amy Adams Strunk on Mularkey: "We did discuss extending his future with our team over the past week, but in those discussions about the direction of the team, it became evident that we saw different paths to achieve greater success."

so the titans did offer him an extension and then fire him lol - im assuming this is based on him not wanting to change his staff or more specifically to change his OC...

More from rapsheet: The belief was that Patriots OC Josh McDaniels would prefer the Titans over all coaching jobs. The health of Andrew Luck was an issue, as was the high ceiling with Marcus Mariota.

"One potential landing spot for Mike Mularkey: The offensive coordinator to Browns coach Hue Jackson. There was interest if Mularkey ever became available."

Well that would certainly suggest that the browns are preparing to ruin another high pick qb's early career - hopefully for the league's sake they pick jackson or allen and leave the 3 most likely to start early in their careers to other teams

Jason La Comfora, the most inaccurate reporter of all time says McDaniels is a virtual lock to be the Colts hc. That must mean he will coach the Titans next season

unfortunately for the world it looks like la canfora will turn out to be right - tom pelissero and rapsheet also reporting
