Around the NFL: News and Rumors

Oh.. It's imminent. People complain now about us but we're not screwed in the long term future. The Steelers have 2 years left of a window max and same goes for New England..

Posters are wrong. The NFL is a long distance race. There's a time to gain traction and start sprinting, but there's also a time to slow down and recover energy. We're in the latter process at the moment. This is the offseason for us to start picking up the pace. We have really good depth we've acquired over the past 2-3 years. Now we need to fix the offense's problems and we'll be one of the better teams in the league. Steelers are fucked the moment Ben retires.
I can only pray Bell leaves also. I really think these guys might struggle to find another good QB. With Ab, they will never be worse than the Browns. They could end up getting stuck in a loop of a 10-20 range pick, not good enough to make the playoffs and not bad enough to find the Qb of the future. Ben not being their will expose so many of their problems. In addition, I think Todd Hay leaving will hurt them a ton. Ben claims to hate him but I think he is in for a really rough time. Todd made him release the ball way faster, and is the only reason Ben hasn't been hurt nearly as much. He could easily get buried a ton now if he tries to scramble, considering he is pretty old and damaged now. Big fat fuck.

Report is that long time Steelers WR Hines Ward who was on the Coaching Staff as an intern, may end up taking over as the team's new WR Coach. So that would add another long tenured Steeler to the coaching staff joining Joey Porter.
And two of the dirtiest players to play in the last 30 years.

Just like we knew the Broncos were screwed once Manning retired because Elway didn't have a legit Plan B after Manning. Whatever happened behind the scenes in New England, their plan B was traded to San Fran and is now their Franchise QB for the next 15 years. So when Brady goes, then the Pats may start to crumble but won't fully fall apart until BB retires. Ben has said he wants to play for at least 3 more years so.....
I'm glad the Patriots lost a legit star for the next 10 years in Jimmy G. I'm sad that I live in California and all of the 49ers fans are going to come back out. No chance Ben plays 3 years more. I'd guess 1, max of 2. Everyone thinks they are Brady all of a sudden. Ben is way to beat up and physical to make it that long without MAJOR drop off

Tod Haley is out of Pittsburgh, they'll let him walk (contract expired). OL coach Mike Munchak likely successor as an OC after declining second interview with Arizona, although there are reports that Steelers QB coach Fichtner is a strong candidate, too.

Not surprising. The oldest team in the league by average age, no QB. Fitz is undecided and may retire or he may not. Its the least attractive head coaching job in the NFL.

It's kinda crazy how there are some parallels between us and the Steelers:
-Growing number of fans want their HCs gone because of seeing the same ole same ole.
-Both HCs would get offers moments after their firings.
-Both teams under the current HC regimes have been to the AFCCG 3x each.
-Failure to address key weaknesses (us with WR, them with CBs and now LBs).
-Both organizations respected for their continuity.
-The games are usually closely contested.

If that's the case, they couldn't have picked two nicer guys.

Seems the squealers are headed to a down period. AB should come to play for the Good Guys. :)
We wouldn't want him. He's a diva WR left from the old era when they've seemed to die out(and yes. ODB isn't a diva. Wanting to be paid like the best in the league when he's actually that good is not a diva move). I'd take ODB over him all the time no questions

Yeah, real sweethearts. lol

I don’t think I’ve ever been angrier at a game as I was when Porter plowed a crippled(ankle)Todd Heap on a meaningless play where the ball was just spiked. Everybody could see Heap was injured, he could barely get to the line to get in a stance. One of the cheapest shots I’ve ever seen. Scum bag.

OK. I didn’t know we had a choice between the two and ODB is much younger. lol Safe to say I wouldn’t kick either to the curb.

We should work together to make sure Bill doesn't get another one. Then hope the best of us win the championship game.

FWIW I love the 49ers unis. lol

Beckham isn't a diva WR?
He's more Russell Westbrook than Terrell Owens in my eyes. He has an ego.. But he's earned his ego. He doesn't pout on the sidelines like Brown when the ball doesn't go his way. He's a character... One who can get overly emotional.. But a character. He's not going to ruin a locker room or tell the coaches to fuck off or get in his teammates faces.. Or live stream the meetings of the team.

Diva... But mroe of an egomaniac than a problem child.

I've been drinking heavily so keep that in mind.

He does seem to have a problem with kicking nets though. LMAO!

Or kissing them if all is good:

Apparently Joey really sucks as a coach. My entire family is filled with Steelers fans, and if you look at it, their linebackers have been really damn bad. (Besides Shazier, but you already know) I mean, Bud Dupree, Jarvis Jones, Sean Spence, VInce Williams, have all failed to develope at all. If they aren't a finished product out of college they are screwed.
Maybe we can trade a linebacker scout for a wr scout
