With all the recdnt OBJ news, its important to remember that he hasn't played in a winning football game since "the boat trip."

Interesting. Just $7M in base salary. $6M more in incentives. Sherman is betting on himself in a big way. $16M in base for 2019 & ‘20 becomes guaranteed if he’s All-Pro. Another option would’ve been signing a 1-year & be a free agent again in 2019. Will watch this play out.

Richard Sherman’s deal includes a $5M signing bonus, plus $2M base salary, $2M in 46-man roster bonuses, $1M playtime incentive and $3M Pro Bowl incentive in 2018. So #49ers get protection, and Sherman gets upside to beat his #Seahawks deal if he plays well. Win-win.

He might be betting on himself to earn big bucks but one thing's for sure - he wanted to stay in NFC West to stick it to Seattle.

So, teams are making moves.

Chargers lock up CB Casey Hayward with a 3 year $36M extension through 2021. $20M of which is guaranteed.

Richard Sherman only gets $3M guaranteed

The only guaranteed portion of Richard Sherman's three-year, $39 million contract is his $3 million signing bonus.

Sherman has been representing himself, so this contract is sure to be criticized by the agent community. So if Sherman doesn't recover smoothly from his Achilles' surgeries, the 49ers could conceivably release him before the season and be on the hook for only $3 million. Sherman also agreed to turn $6 million of his total potential earnings into per-game roster bonuses, paid only if Sherman is on the active, game-day roster. It's an incredibly team-friendly deal.

if he makes a pro bowl in year 1 (that or all pro i cant remember the stipulation but if its pro bowl he literally has to just play 16 games and name brand might just get him in) i think it adds 20 mill in guarantees to his deal through years 2 and 3

Browns are moving CB Damarious Randall to Free Safety after acquiring him. Um... see I knew the Browns would botch this somehow. Don't they know Strong Safety is where it's at?

Report: Vikings 'reach out' to Drew Brees

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Vikings have "reached out" to free agent Drew Brees.

Brees' situation is becoming more fluid. There's been almost zero belief he could actually leave New Orleans, but we are less than 48 hours from the start of free agency and there's seemingly been zero movement in talks. It makes all the sense in the world for Brees to at least feign interest in other teams as he negotiates with the Saints. It also makes sense for the Vikings, who could be trying to leverage Kirk Cousins.

Report: Jaguars interested in Sammy Watkins

First Coast News reports the Jaguars are interested in free agent Sammy Watkins.

It's extremely interesting, as it's been presumed one of the reasons the Jags were comfortable letting Allen Robinson hit the open market was because of their young prospects at receiver. They do reportedly remain open to re-signing Robinson. It's ultimately difficult to see Watkins ending up in teal.

Broncos DT Gotsis arrested on rape charge

Broncos DT Adam Gotsis has been arrested on rape charges in Atlanta.

The arrest stems from a 2013 incident when Gotsis was a student at Georgia Tech. The No. 63 overall pick of the 2016 draft, Gotsis started 13 games last season. His 2018 status should be considered up in the air. It's an extremely serious situation.

Speaking of Quarterbacks, the first domino has fallen. Per Schefter, former Vikings QB Case Keenum will sign with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday.
