Signings, Cuts, Trades

that's not what I mean. If we lose those players and sign free agents we won't get all of those comps.

Stone has been the best 7th rounder we have ever drafted. I hope we can extend him, but I have my doubts....especially since he will want to start someplace.
Zach Sieler is a pretty good 7th rdr. Ozzie's last pick.

Surprized at that since Oliver's contract was so much bigger but Colon might not qualify like you said. In other words that would suck.
So one thing I don't recall that somebody can look up... wasn't TCC a RFA this offseason, and we non-tendered? If so, my guess would be that he doesn't count as a FA lost, since you effectively had the option to tender and declined.

I tried looking up the rules, and quite frankly, they made a lot of changes at the '20 CBA, so the comp pick formula is fairly complex.

He can start here if we're happy with Hamilton in the slot. It's just a question of price.

My "gut" is we're going to target signing Madubuike. If he prices out, we'll move onto others. My "gut" also says we're going to make a half-assed attempt to re-sign Queen, and basically won't make much of an attempt at all. I think that ship has sailed.

Of those three, Queen being back is the least likely in my opinion. And it's not close.

Stone is playing like a top 10 safety right now. We have at least one if not 2 other top 10 safeties. I think that Stone will likely not be coming back, which is tragic. DeCosta better re-sign Madubuike though.

The thing is though... if you're losing that much to FA, in order to get comp picks, you can't sign FAs. It's still net FA's lost.

Like if you lose three highly paid FAs, but sign even two cheap one's, the best you can get is one comp pick.

So if you lose a bunch of starters or key players, what happens when you can't replace them all via draft picks? You either need replacements on the roster, or sign FAs. Some of those guys could be roster cuts, but you can't bank on that either.

Said in an earlier post, but its pretty clear EDC isn't as high on comp picks as Ozzie was. You could argue some of that was spending during Lamar's cheaper window, but we need to see how that plays out.
I have no expectations of the Ravens signing FAs this offseason outside the late and cheap window. It's more likely that any money they have goes towards trying to keep one of their own draft picks.

Only EDC knows if he has other plans, but if he does, then my idea of planning to use those comp picks goes out the window.

I agree, EDC doesn't value comp picks (or late round picks) like Ozzie did, but this year, where there's a real possibility of getting 2 thirds, he might play it a bit differently.

Well, if they do what I think they should do, they'll resign Madubuike anyway. Meaning they won't get two thirds. I also wouldn't be like supremely confident that Queen will fetch a third round comp pick, but we'll see. Stone for certain won't.

Good trade for them
I can't figure it out. I think he's a good player, but this is the second time he's been traded like this. He's on in expiring contract too.

I know several beatwriters in NY think he's overrated and greatly benefits from playing next to Dexter Lawrence.

For the love of god get Saquon here

I liked that those boys came out slow and tired and still scored 4 TDS
Yep! After the Cards scored the first TD, I immediately thought "3-and-out incoming." I understand that a couple of TDs were off of short field positions thanks to the defense forcing a couple of turnovers, but they still scored TDs. Complimentary football.
