Be drafted number 2. Honestly that is about it. Highly drafted players get an entire career to prove they arent great whereas if he were drafted 25 he would have maybe gotten a 4th or 5th.

Literally draft any RB in any draft class in the 2nd or 3rd round, and give them the same volume that Henry or Jacobs gets.
It will blow your mind how little difference there is.

My comment meant I think these guys were busts. Honestly I’m shocked he has 3,000 yards, I know he gets a lot of volume but he seems to have bad vision

I know. I was just pointing out how the "optics" numbers without any context can lead somebody to think something that isn't true actually is true.

can't really say that. Whenever Chase has been on the field he has had more pressures than Sweat and Chase is having an excellent year and had a very good year in his rookie year. Last couple years he's been injured and in that case Sweat has been more productive. Take that out of the equation and he hasn't been.
 
Now that we haven't signed anyone I'll leave it at this.

It sounds like anyone we would have signed wouldn't have been extended and they would like to use what available cap we have to sign one or two of our top defensive players that are becoming free agents.
 
on the offensive side, it sounds as if Josh Jacobs wanted to be here and we wanted him but the Raiders wanted a 2nd.

I think we should sign Ronald Jones and be done with it. He's stil a free agent.

I'm happy enough with Gus, Justice and Keaton.

Even Melvin Gordon isn't terrible. I mean, he's not good, or even average, but you could probably get through a game with him. And we fumble every week anyway.

He flashed something when he played and made a nice catch.
 
Also if the team wants to get even more creative at the running back position they probably could use Devin Duvenay here and there like last year. Not sure if that's on Monkens radar though
 
Imo we needed an RB to contend with the big boys. That will help open the passing up. Teams are going to do like the Cards drop everyone back and dare us to run. Lamar seemed hesitant to run against the cards. If I'm not mistaken we have only one game with over a hundred yards. We've played nothing but back up QBs and the only great offensive showing in 8 games was against the lions.

I'm pessimistic right now. I know some of you will point out the positives but I was hoping we would of also took of some pressure off Lamar by giving him a playmaker at RB

We had one, he got hurt. The rest cost too much and we weren’t willing to pay I guess
