I’d have been fine with him, but let’s just get Henry and bring back Dobbins or draft someone or bothZack Moss gone. Bengals sign RB Zack Moss to a 2 year $8M deal while cutting Joe Mixon to free up $6M in cap space
PQ back on a 1 year deal perhaps if no market really develops?Slightly surprised PQ hasn't been signed yet. We need that sweet 3rd round comp pick - get it done before teams start running low on money.
That might help a good RB fall to us in the draft. I'd like to sit the RB market out entirely and just wait for that to happen.Absolutely bonkers that the RB market has been so busy. I know the draft is weak there but I still didn’t expect this.
Makes a lot of sense.
It's a slight surprise to see the Ravens make a signing on the first day of free agency though.
Don't think this will calm the "We need to sign a star NOW! What is EDC doing?" crowd much.
Has signing an old RB ever worked for us? Has it ever worked for anyone, come to think of it?And at this point, despite my questioning of how Henry would fit, I might be team go for it. Don’t think the cost would be too prohibitive based on the market for others. May only be a 1 or 2 year solution but not like anyone else is a bonafide option either.
He is the only one I would be happy to get right now. If we don't get him happy to let the market play out and get someone later in the off season for cheap and draft someone. And at this point, despite my questioning of how Henry would fit, I might be team go for it. I don't see how he fits with our run game and I don't like what he would cost, especially in years two and maybe three of his contract. If Henry didn’t break the bank you wouldn’t be interested?
I’d take an Ingram type of impact from Henry if it were to happen. I’d argue Ingram was a really good value for what we got out of him on and off the field.Has signing an old RB ever worked for us? Has it ever worked for anyone, come to think of it?
Even Mark Ingram was only good for one year before looking slow and wasting snaps that should have gone to Dobbins the next. Even he didn't represent good value.
Based on the guarantees other guys are getting, Henry would probably be no more than a 2 year deal regardless of the length of contract. Jacobs got 4/$48M and that is a 2 year deal as a whole with so many outs for Green Bay. Henry (nor really anyone sans Saquon) would have impacted this team heavily on the money front.I don't see how he fits with our run game and I don't like what he would cost, especially in years two and maybe three of his contract.
Off the field, I can see a case, but on the field he was a negative in 2020. We could have rode Gus into 19 off a great end to 2018, used Dobbins as we should have in 2020 and saved $15 M.I’d take an Ingram type of impact from Henry if it were to happen. I don’t disagree with that but that’s on coaching, not the contract at that point.Off the field, I can see a case, but on the field he was a negative in 2020. We could have rode Gus into 19 off a great end to 2018, used Dobbins as we should have in 2020 and saved $15 M.
