Feels very important to keep in mind, especially after trading away 2 1st rounders. Being top heavy isn't a bad thing if you can reload the roster and you'll need as many draft picks as you can to do so.

basically what the rams did before they started getting their 1st round picks back again
indexed really hard into acquiring and compiling mid-to-late round picks and filling out their roster with cheap depth - did really well to find contributors in R3 and day 3

apparently being a good GM means signing anyone that ever played for you and paying every player mega deals to stay
but this bad GM we have apparently also definitely sucks at drafting, which is why we have so many players signing big 2nd contracts elsewhere

literally better than any player that's available to sign (or been made available to sign) and the 4 years left on his deal have cap hits that would come in as only the 9th highest EDGE deal in the league

2 1st rounders is a lot, but hard to argue we didnt get the best player available at a bargain (in terms of cap impact)

Feels like a lot of people think every player we draft needs to be a bonafide starter or star or it's a fail. Role players are good things to have. And sometimes you have to know who is a role player and let them walk when they're getting more than role player money. I'm not paying any of the guys we lost on multi-year deals to the money they got.

it's so frustrating and idk where this cesspool of thought has come from but it definitely wasn't this bad 2-3 years ago

clearly these players are valuable because they're getting paid enough that we can't retain the guys we would like to retain...

literally only guy whose deal i'd have been interested is ar'darius i think...
 
I think a lot of yall are forgetting how bad our team was last year. It's hard to care about pretty much anyone other than Linderbaum. And we knew he was long gone. That's why we got Crosby. The Linderbaum money is being put to infinitely better use there.

I still think it was an underperforming team, not a bad one. That's why all of these guys we lost were coveted.

I think a couple of missing pieces really hurt, especially on the D line. Ironically, we looked great all around the 2 games Snoop started soundly thrashing 2 playoff teams.

This is part of why I love the deal. People keep bringing his injury. Wasn't it a simple meniscus? For NFL guys those are nothing.

He's already paid, and no player we draft this year would have his immediate impact. A year ago, he was in top 3-5 convos and now people are acting like he's a bum. People are coping because they know between Minter and this addition, the defense is most likely back to dominating.

Hopefully a whole new coaching staff means no more of the bullshit coaching input on day 3. Too much room for personal bias and ego to get in the way when your positional coaches have a hand in pushing the GM to draft certain players, it has not yielded good results
