Signings, Cuts, Trades

How was Gabe Jackson last year for the Raiders? It seems if we do trade for him, we would extend him to lower the $9M cap hit.

he's already under contract for the next 3 years at over 9m/yr - not sure i want a declining vet with 16 penalties and 11 sacks in the last 3 years and a history of injuries - none of it would be guaranteed but that's still a lot of cap space to pay for a unreliable, descending stop-gap

extending him wouldnt really be a viable way to lower his value because he already has 3 years left - he would have to take a straight up pay-cut which if he was willing to take he probably wouldn't be on the trade block

also we'd have to give up draft picks most likely to go and get him and no way are we doing that

even though hes hardly old at 28, i think he's had his best years. Hes a solid grade B gaurd but much like KO he's not what he was 3-4 years ago.

Ravens are considering trading RG3 who has 2M in non guaranteed money remaining on his contract. The Raiders are trying to trade Guard Gabe Jackson who has 9.6m remaining and neither contract is guaranteed.

I wonder if we are interested at all
Would trade rg3 in a heart beat

Kelechi Osemele is a free agent. He was cut, so I don’t think he count towards the comp pic formula. Could be worth a shot. Coming off surgery though.

there was some bad blood when he left - would he want to come back? would the front office want him back?

from a scheme, price and situation standpoint it would make a lot of sense but not sure whether too many bridges got burned on his way out...

Yeah, he was too greedy and on top of that ran his mouth a lot, all after the Ravens offered top G money at the time. He wanted to be paid like an OT, got that from Oakland. Don't want either him or Jackson - add another IOL via draft to the group we're developing already and that's it.

Yanda himself was a 3rd rounder, hope we don't overreact and overdo this.

Media seems to be clinging to this possibility. PFT had an article saying we could re-sign him and one of the NFL Network guys was saying we could bring him back.

i mostly agree with that - albeit i cant begrudge him for going elsewhere for way more money... just dont like the way he talked about the organisation as if they treated awfully after he left

i would not mind bringing him back on a low-value 1 year deal or something like that but im not going to pay him major money coming off his injury problems

would be odd if he did come back this offseason given that we picked re-signing yanda over re-signing KO and now he would be arbitrarily replacing yanda post-retirement...

but absolutely im all in on just getting younger and seeing if we can't find some gem in the mid-rounds again (unless we get someone like ruiz)

Rap Sheet posted the losses and gains of those teams who got compensatory picks.

Ravens Losses: John Brown(Bills), CJ Mosley(Jets), ZDS(Packers), Terrell Suggs(Cardinals, Chiefs)
Ravens Gains: Mark Ingram, Earl Thomas

Here is the next big question

Judon- Tag n Trade for a 2nd ( early 2nd would rock)

Tag n Keep

Extension?

huge and not sure how we ended up with a 3rd considering how many games CJ played.

The contract was clearly big enough I suppose - tbf it literally reset the linebacker market by over 10% - my guess is that was just enough given that it was the lowest awarded 3rd round pick

I’d be down to trade Judon for an early third if we could swing it. If we could get a mid to late 2 I’d be ecstatic.

but at the same time I’m kinda getting on board with tag and play if we can do it, I just don’t wanna lock him up long term unless it’s low in gurantees, and I damn sure don’t want him walking in hopes of a comp pick. If we keep Judon, then we hope one of Ferguson, bowser, or potential rookie pans out, and we keep jimmy on for a year, and we continue blitzing, it works, pass rushers just aren’t as important to us as literally every other team. That said Though I’d obviously prefer one
