Signings, Cuts, Trades

he was very good in Minnesota. He played 8 games this season had 3 sacks and 16 pressures. DT need to be rotated to stay fresh and are going to naturally have a lower % of snaps. Pierce is a hell of a signing and reasonable contract at that.
Yea I just saw that. 8 games with 3 sacks for a NT is crazy lol. Minnesota always gets the most out of their pass rush though. I hope MM brings that to the table for us. Like @cdp, I was kinda ehh at first, probably because of the Z debacle, but this is a low risk signing that brings a lot of upside and a familiar face back to town. I'm with it

Am i the only one who doesn't like the Pierce signing? Why do we keep paying players who only play 35% of all snaps and aren't great pass rushers?
I like Pierce don't get we wrong, but i don't see the benefit of it
I mean this does not really even make sense. There are almost no NT that get huge pressure on the QB. The ones that do are among the highest paid players in the league. The others are potent run stoppers.

Look at our DL right now. We don't have Calais, Wolfe is potentially a question mark, no BWill... You need to add to your DL and badly.

It was an absolutely obvious decision to bring Pierce back. He fills a need and still definitely has the chance to play at a very high level

Were you mad when we signed Tucker? Cos he plays even less. If he plays at a high level it's a good signing but it is a little risky given how much he has played recently
I think the difference is Tucker gives his all, there's a question about Pierce doing same. But I'm sure the Ravens have done their homework and know what they're getting.

We gotta play Najee Harris, Nick Chubb, Joe mixon, and samaje Perine twice a year, at some point we might have to stop the likes of Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs and javonte Williams if we wanna win it all.

We don’t wanna pay a NT but as soon as we get gashed on 3rd and 5 by a team running out the clock we’re complaining about our run defense, and pierce comes cheaper than bwill.

This is just fundamentally not true. The only thing you can possibly say is he showed up to camp heavy once and he took himself out of one season as a high risk person.

Look at how well he played that year he showed up heavy and look how well he played last year.

NT can be had for less. 5.5m average for a NT in a two gap scheme - sorry I'd rather spend the noney elsewhere.

Why are people harping on Pierce for not giving effort? Yeah he came in overweight that one year but busted his ass, lost the weight, and played extremely well. Seems kind of silly to me.
There is clearly a huge overreaction to the ZDS news or something.

You can have that optinion for sure but that's not what you said. You talked about his effort not his price. Also, his price is quite low
