Signings, Cuts, Trades

I can tell it came down to money, I'm assuming the Saints or Falcons weren't willing to give Watson a raise and the Browns backed up the money trucks in Watson's driveway. The Browns were on the right track, yes they needed an upgrade over Baker sure but they were heading in the right direction and now bring in an "adult" who still has civil suits for harassing women. All well still not concerned..... still more worried about Burrow and the Bengals then I am Cleveland with Watson.

Anyone know what Bozeman got from Carolina?

Watson is a significant upgrade over Baker. I just thank God he doesn't have Jarvis and Odell

Jarvis was largely just a name and Cooper is every bit the WR Odell is (for different reasons as Cooper is a far stronger route runner which was always ODB weakness).

If he wants more than Rodgers I would trade. Take the 3 first round picks you get and try to hit on a QB again because at that point you are taking about 3-4 all pro players you can sign instead.

hahahhaahahaha

what good is all that money when all-pros never hit the market so that point is moot and on top of all that money we wouldnt have anyone to spend on, we now wouldnt have a QB

you know how hard it is to find a unanimous MVP calibre player? because there's only 2 of them in NFL history...

Can't wait for the "At Home with Deshaun Watson" Commercials where he goes around the neighborhood telling them a predator has moved in.

Hold up... Bozeman took a 1 year deal with the Panthers? He must have been out of our price range if he couldn't agree to a 1 year deal here.

This doesn’t make sense unless we’re passing on Bradley for Tretter. If the market wasn’t what he expected, surely he would go back to Baltimore for that 1 year prove it deal and try again next year. Curious what the money is

Depends how much. Hard for us to do 1 year deals since we typically backload the longer ones. A 1 year cap hit for us is basically undoable about like $3-4M and I’d bet he got more than that

Is he better than Mahomes? Easily no. Rodgers? Easily no. Josh Allen? More debatable but I would lean no. He had a great 2019 but he has not come close to replicating it from either a running or passing perspective and if the argument is that he needs players he will never get that under said deal. I would rather hit a QB in the draft next year, which is not an insane proposition, and have 3-4 big all pro names in their prime to help said drafted QB then have a QB with minimal pieces around him and trying to win that way.

What? To both of those statements

ODB has not looked good in several years. The Browns played better without him.

Landry has looked good for a 2 but that is about it and his production has now been down 2 years in a row which tends to be a bad sign.
