Signings, Cuts, Trades

Bozeman really chose....
- A shaky Coaching situation, Rhule will likely be fired midseason pending Darnold turning into Mahomes which is not going to happen.

- Darnold, Newton, Walker? Who is their QB?

- Leaving a team for a shaky situation with another team is skeptical. Carolina probably has a top 5 pick next year, why waste a one year deal on a bad team? Like if he took a one year deal in Tampa, understandable.

- A one year deal with us, plus potentially playoffs/Super Bowl run means more money next year for him. One year on a bad Panthers team isn't going to get him the big money contract.

this is a false equivalence because the ravens were never going to offer him a 1 year deal - we cant afford to do 1 year deals
and bozeman didnt really have a choice - ravens havent offered him a contract since November/December time

I don’t think we’ve done enough to compete with the best in the conference. Feels like some teams are absolutely running away with it and we’re limiting ourselves by hoarding picks. We need to play catch-up the rest of the off-season. Luckily there’s still time but sometimes I really wish we’d take the Rams route and acquire as much talent as possible

And I hate how we run a conservative, run-heavy offensive with Lamar. How the hell are we gonna compete with the high octane offenses in the conference? Man I wish we’d tweak our identity and surround Lamar with a plethora of toys, enabling him to drop back more

who though?
got to be a scheme fit, got to be available, got to actually be an improvement and not just a name-brand, got to have a contract that fits under the cap or at least a contract with enough length and flexibility to fit under the cap...

who fits those parameters? who have we missed out on?

i also really dont think we're actually behind any of these teams? these AFC "giants" that have made splashy moves all have holes too - we're just not micro-analysing them the way we do our own roster

lamar is surrounded with toys - he's got 2 1st round WRs, an all-pro TE and 2 great RBs as well as a bunch of complementary WRs/weapons

what toys are we missing?

I feel like panthers are a qb away from being the best team in that div and possibly top 3 in nfc

We have a lot of weapons though.. bateman, hollywood, andrews, gus, dobbins and also lamar himself..

You guys always know how to bring me back down to reality. I was upset earlier. Don’t mind me

Dude....this time last year you probably didn't have Stafford sniffing your best QB list. I'm not even going to entertain this.
1. Well I did, but I know most fans didn't, but they've never been able to explain why. Like there was no other argument against Stafford as a high-end QB except "he doesn't win playoff games", and those people look incredibly foolish.
2. You don't get to skip a SB trophy and be like "yeah that doesn't count". It does. It's kind of a big deal.

This is top tier bad analysis by you.

You can entertain whatever you choose to. That's the beauty of ignorance. Sand is pretty deep and you can bury your head in it for as long as you choose. NFL teams (plural at this point) have been telling you how wrong you are for decades now. The only thing you have left to figure out is why you won't listen...

Other than murry those other 3 guys decision making are much better than herberts though… thats where i feel like most herberts ints come from and thats why as good as he is, i still view him like andrew luck. Remember some of those dumb ass passes lamar threw this season, well thats how herbert ints are except they seem to always come in the 3rd and 4th q..
I mean maybe Brady, but I think you'll have a really tough time selling Allen or Stafford as top tier decision makers. There's a lot of film that suggests otherwise.

Also comes with the obvious caveat of Herbert basically having played a whopping two seasons. I can't describe how bad of a decision maker Peyton Manning was in year 1 and even into year 2.

Watson possibly better but i dnt think browns SB contenders at all
Man how quick we forget...the browns were looking real good like real good then they imploded. Between the two Ohio teams early on the Bengals didn't look like much but they got it together when it mattered most. Cooper and Watson plus that monster running game. Yea their def SB contenders. But enough with this topic let's focus on us again.

With the Michigan LB going down which I saw us drafting now I believe it's almost a guarantee we trade back.

Edit: Love me some DB's but I hate lisfranc injuries.

I never thought they were "really, really good". Two years ago they were 11-5 and won one playoff game. Not anything super impressive.

Way to early on that one. Pass rusher isn't close to the only need we have. Multiple corners I see on this board that, if they fall, we will 100% take them in the first round.

Also not convinced Ojabo was high on our list anyway. Maybe he was, but I doubt he's like the only guy we were prioritizing.
