Signings, Cuts, Trades

You're thinking of the Forum Mock Rams who weren't able to bring any of their o line back lol. IRL Rams re-signed Noteboom, Allen, and Shelton. They only lost Corbett to FA, and Whitworth retired.
so basically like their two best Olineman, which they've yet to replace.

Added ARob, lost Woods. Added Wagner, lost Von Miller. Also lost Joseph-Day, Darious Williams. Have not yet re-signed OBJ and don't know if they will.

I consider Noteboom and Shelton to be starters for them. Not arguing the other positions.

they didnt need to replace whitworth because they already had his replacement on the roster and just gave him a 3yr 40m contract
they'll need to see what they can do at one of the guard spots - they just re-signed shelton and maybe he slots into RG or maybe he goes into LG and Edwards shifts to RG - either way they've got a decent starting 5 right now but should take the opportunity to add a guard if they get a good one fall to them in the draft at the end of R3

I am extremely interested in seeing at least one of Stephon Gilmore, Tavon Young, or Chris Westry brought back. Give me one more corner I can trust before going into the draft
Gilmore is someone I’d love to have here. Him, MP and Marlon would be ridiculous lol. I’m surprised we haven’t been connected to him this off-season

My guess at Corner is that we want to add some youth at the position. Fully expect we'll come away with probably two Corners in this draft, and I think one will be either on day 1 or day 2.
I don't think we're out of the Corner market in FA, but I think it'll be more of the discounted price tag guys, which I don't think is what Gilmore will be. Still think he'll fetch a fairly decent price tag.

I cannot imagine a situation where you are drafting this high and picking a player in the 1st to not be a day 1 starter. If they pick Corner though that is not the starter that is going to be someone who plays maybe 40% of the snaps because both Marlon and Peters are going to be getting the overwhelming majority so at best you are looking at your 3rd corner. The Ravens when drafting this high have always found day 1 full time starters and I do not see that changing.

I agree - I don’t think we can meet his asking price, but I also don’t believe Sauce and/or Stingley will be there at 14, so I’m fully expecting a lineman on either side on day 1. Also, signing Tyrann (if we truly still have interest in him) would alleviate some of these 3rd Corner questions, as I feel like he can contribute in that area on passing downs, granted we don’t get rid of Chuck in the process.

drafting a corner who can also play slot, ie Stingley will not matter if he isn't the starter, he will still be on the field a lot and not just 40% of the snaps.

1. We don't have a slot corner. So either the draft pick will be that guy, or they'll kick Marlon back into the slot. Pretty much all teams employ 3 Corner looks that play well over half the snaps, so I certainly don't think playing time has anything to do with it.
2. Short of picking an Olineman, I can't think of anybody they'll draft who will play like 90-100% of snaps in year 1. Even a pass rusher will almost certainly be situational, especially when you already have Oweh and others.
3. I think if you look back historically, you're going to see a lot of non-starters taken in the first round. At DB specifically, Jimmy Smith comes to mind. Certainly wasn't a starter in year 1.
That's pretty universally true with a lot of late day 1 picks, though we are picking higher this year than usual.

CB3 is a starter in todays league, and we have high dollar corners with some mileage. A corner at 14 is a guy that the ravens feel could be a fixture for years to come. A stingley type

Well that was fun while it lasted

We down bad

literally any corner we draft in R1 is going to play a ton of snaps - they'll play just as many snaps as a R1 DL and EDGE would because of the way we rotate in the front 7

the 3rd corner in nickel packages is basically a starter at this point - and you're drafting for not just 1 year but future years too
