But if he rejoins then we'd be keeping 7 DL. That seems crazy. Maybe Urban would do this PS thing but it seems so much more likely that Mack is the one who does that

the problem there is that mack has to go through waivers whereas urban doesnt
7 DL would be wild for sure but remember Travis Jones is hurt right now and may not be ready for week 1 so will be on the gameday inactives so could make sense to carry an extra guy at least for the first couple of weeks

And a rare case where I believe it's a virtual guarantee that he gets claimed. And the other thing in his favor is that we're still going to need young bodies on the DL going forward. Not saying he's a superstar but he's much more likely to be re-signed after the year as a rotational guy than Urban. All of this being said of course, it's not even like we're predicting Urban is gone. It's just finding a way to keep a young and ascending player and seeing if he's a longer term piece.

campbell's last year, urban's not here for the long haul, washington not insurmountable (and both he and madubuike will be entering their 4th years next year) - there's definitely space for Mack to make the team in 2023 if he's still here - and interior pass rush is so valuable to the defence and that's been Mack's primary calling card since joining the ravens... got a sack in his only game in 2021 and then had something like 12 pressures over the last 2 preseason games...

lol no thanks - didnt like him as a draft pick and he's done nothing since - the fact the jets are waiving him despite their lack of depth and talent at EDGE is telling - if they cut zuniga id at least consider it given i liked him coming out (albeit he's done thing since just like anae)
