he never really had the opportunity to play left guard during the season and when given the chance he played tackle, which he sucked at. He also was a tackle in college and we didn't have a preseason in 2020, the year he started at right guard.

I do see the value with Cleveland, especially at right guard. Too bad we couldn't trade Phillips, but we probably tried, unsuccessfully.
 
In regards to Tyre, they badly wanted him to take over the job but he couldn't stay on the field and when he was, he bounced all over the place. That continued all offseason. One where you'll always wonder what he could have been if he could have stayed on the field and at one position, because he certainly had some very good traits for a G. Figured it wasn't too farfetched for him to be axed after seeing him play so deep in PS3, but thought he'd hang around a little while longer.
