Can we afford him?
his salary is 1.1m so, we could absolutely afford him and we would only have to pay have his salary. It's next season that we may have to restructure his contract due to being owned 18m in salary. His salary is fully guaranteed in 2023. There is a potential out at the end of next season though.

This team is so frustrating to me because I feel like it is legitimately only 2 pieces away (plus Lamar playing like we know he can) from being legitimate contenders.

JPP has definitely been a force with pass blocks at the line and has been good at spelling Oweh. Really glad to have him, however Houston is the only legitimate pass rusher who's played so far this year. If one of Bowser and or Ojabo can come in and really apply pressure opposite of Houston that would be huge for this team.

The other piece is simply at WR. There will come a point a month down the road where hopefully the entire line, JK, Gus, Bateman, and Andrews are totally healthy and at our disposal. But this team lacks both a consistent deep threat and a very solid possession receiver. Duv is great at being Duv, Bateman is supposed to be that guy but just hasn't been, and the rest are trash. Hopefully DeSean can come in and at least be a deep threat.

If I'm EDC I see that this team has faced just a huge amount of struggle with injuries, new coordinator, tons of young players, and it's largely gotten in its own way. But it's going to get back Dobbins, Bowser, Ojabo, Williams, etc. Please just find a way to bring in one WR and give this team its best chance to compete.

Noah on "For The Flock" mentioned trading for Alvin Kamara on his youtube channel, but he did say he hadn't checked out his contract. He is playing on a 1m salary this season, which we would be required to pay a little over half. Next season he has 4m of his 9.4m signing bonus fully guaranteed. So if we were to trade for him, we absolutely could afford him, but I'd expect he would end up being a 1 year rental and then cut prior to 03/20/2023. If he is injured this season, next years contract is fully guaranteed.

I would like that alot and it may force Lamar to be more willing to throw to the flat and etc. But at the same time Justin Hill and Kenyan Drake have been balling lately and have the ability to make plays in the passing game as receivers so I don't know if Kamara would be on their radar.

I agree and I don't think he would be on the radar at all, but I was just throwing it out there for the "everything is greener" crew, especially since the cap numbers work.

I'd like to see them trade for Mims. Would't cost much in draft capital and he is still on a rookie contract with a year remaining.

As a scrambling QB for my flag football team, I always say why checkdown to my center when I can just run that shii for 15+.

I imagine Lamar thinks that x100. Kamara won’t be used to his full potential with Lamar as his QB lol

Hill is still extremely hot and cold, plus has had a bit of a fumbling habit. Drake is solid but doesn't feel like he's anything special (not on the level of Gus or a healthy Dobbins). I would take Kamara over them in a heart beat.

Also Kamara is such a good route runner that he could actually go in motion to the slot or even out wide a lot. He certainly could be a WR out of the backfield, and take a big volume of catches.

I would love Mims. But trading for him now, it’s pretty much a guarantee that it’s only for the remainder of this year. We probably won’t resign him for much and he would want to go to a pass happy team on a 1 year prove it deal.

6th or 7th rounder only. Iunno if Jets do that deal

Is he facing a possible suspension for knocking that guy out in Vegas?

Completely agree, sign any WR capable of gaining separation and this offense is completely different. Shitty play calls combined with WRs not separating won’t get it done in the playoffs
