I know its a long shot, but god it would be funs to have a young, cheap, and talented nucleus with a boat load of cap space to use for the first time in forever. If you look at this team pretty objectively it's a
QB (this could be Lamar obviously)
RB
OG
WR maybe 2
CB
DE
Away from being a total SB contender again next year. The team has to think about what it's going to be able to do in all of its situations to make the strongest team possible for as long as possible.
For a 1/2? Shit boy you crazy. The starting point for negotiations is gonna be 2 firsts and when a second team jumps in the bidding it would become 3 firstsStart fresh with a new OC, Trade Lamar for Houston's 1st/2nd round pick, draft Bryce Young, use that cap space to secure Roquan/Queen, use our pick (20-25 range) on CB/WR/OL support.
Its time to start fresh, this is the way.
Of course you can, but it would require objectivity.I don't see how trading Lamar makes us better. Even with the picks
Bro your the GM , I'm just the assistant to the assistant getting the conversations started. Lets do this Kevin CostnerFor a 1/2? Shit boy you crazy. The starting point for negotiations is gonna be 2 firsts and when a second team jumps in the bidding it would become 3 firsts
It's very risky. You can get better but you can also get WAYYYYY worseI don't see how trading Lamar makes us better. Even with the picks

Lamar is a great QB but its silly to think we cant be as good or better without him. None of us have a crystal ball. Lamar may win a super bowl for us next year, he also might completely blow out his PCL and never be the same athlete. Byrce Young maybe a bust, he also maybe the next Drew Brees.
Even if Lamar's play was not trending in a negative direction this season and he was the MVP candidate, its going to be difficult to pay him and give him the complimentary pieces he deserves. We could do it, but will surely have significant holes. Are we really structured for success if were also paying Roquan and Lamar top dollar? Honestly, I don't see it unless EDC is damn near perfect in the draft. That's not fair to Lamar or the fans. So why not objectively look at starting over with a young talented QB, draft picks to surrounded him with talent, and cap space to secure an already top tier defense?

As sad as this statement is, getting better requires winning 1 playoff game lol. Now it's obviously the case that Lamar can do that too. But ffs the team needs to be constructed properly and then not all get lost to IRI can't recall a team letting someone in their prime get traded and they become better.
Exactly! And there's 2 outcomes. If you do end up securing that 1st overall pick, you either take THE GUY and you look like an absolute genius, OR you take a scrub that sets you back 4 years AND you have the extreme regret of letting Lamar go. In the latter you like an idiot. You would have to assume that the boat load of picks we have end up being hits which as we all know is not the case. You would then have to figure that whatever QB you take is going to be THE guy.

The trade never materializes if the Ravens don't think CJ Stroud or Bryce Young are "the guy" so that kind of seems irrelevant. If they don't like the class than its a no brainer to tag and keep the status quo for another year. You would then have to figure that whatever QB you take is going to be THE guy.
That's why this stuff is so fun and torturous at the same time. My personnel opinion is we died a slow death with Flacco and faced the same issues with cap problems and shitty support personnel until the very end. I'd prefer we dont repeat that while watching Lamar tell the internet to eat of bag of dicks(still funny) out of frustration.Exactly! And there's 2 outcomes. I hope we extend him this offseason so we can stop talking about this...The trade never materializes if the Ravens don't think CJ Stroud or Bryce Young are "the guy" so that kind of seems irrelevant. If they don't like the class than its a no brainer to tag and keep the status quo for another year.

They are def not comparable, Lamar has him beat in nearly every category IMO. Just pointing out they are in a similar boat where neither guy is getting the support needed based on injuries, cap crunch, or flat out missing in the draft. Two very large impending contracts only make that situation much worse. I also don't buy the "carry the offense" argument in a team game. There are way to many variables to say THIS GUY carries the team. If I did believe that though I would agree Lamar is much closer than Joe ever was.I get that but I don't see how Lamar and Flacco are comparable. Flacco never had the ability to carry an offense nor did we win as much with him

Did you follow the team pre Lamar? Take a look at 2013 and beyond .... There's a reason I was specifically talking about the end of Flacco's tenure and dying a slow death. No they were not. Flacco had Torrey Smith, Dennis Pitta, Boldin, and Jacoby. Ray Rice in the backfield.
I would take that care in a HEART beat compared to anything we have had on the actual field these last few years.
