Signings, Cuts, Trades

Are you being serious or trolling right now? I honestly cannot tell your argument basically seems to boil down to actually caring about how you play is bad whereas being a jackass makes you good? The diva WR is not really a good look and I cannot someone is seriously arguing FOR that kind of personality as a positive.

Steve Smith even at his age was probably the best WR the Ravens have ever had but the Ravens did not have all pro Steve Smith they had very good Steve Smith. The point being that saying "well he won this award 7 years ago" is not relevant to the topic because the Boldin of years 1-7 was not a Raven but the Boldin of years 8-10 was. That guy was a great 2 and he could feast as a 2nd option but he was not a 1. The Boldin of early years was a 1 but that guy did not play for the Ravens in the same way that the Ravens did not have all pro Steve Smith but instead had very good Steve Smith, which is how they got him cheap.

I am not sure what you are even trying to say. It sounds like you think Boldin was a diva at WR which is news to me. Who are you referencing that isn't a good look and was a diva?

Boldin is head and shoulders a better receiver than Hollywood Brown. Boldin was the number 1 receiver when he was here.

I’m a Jaxon Smith-Njigba fan.
I'm gonna go back through everyone once the NFL season is over but there was something about JSN that I didn't like at all. I'll edit this in a couple with why once I can recall it.

EDIT: He's gonna be a slot receiver kinda guy. But he's not a burner. Imo his ceiling is Duvernay's ceiling which Duv will never reach. Very much a late 1st round kind of guy for me and not someone I'd be thrilled for the Lamar Jackson offense. But that's just my initial take I wrote down. Will really dive in after the season.

His top speed worries me. But I just like his game. Looks like a savvy route runner, which are the type of WRs I like over the super athletes that can only run fast etc. JSN might only be a slot guy at the next level though

Lol I just edited and said the same thing as you.

I don't know. Boldin has a better chance of making the HOF than Rivers. Boldiin had 1,076 receptions 83 tds and 13,779 yards. If he doesn't make it in, it's not because he doesn't DESERVE to be in the HOF.

He absolutely is in the same camp as Rivers. A good player with great numbers, somewhat inflated by the modern NFL, but not a HoF player. After all Rivers has 63440 passing yards, 421 TDs (both 6th all time) whereas Boldin has 13779 yards (14th all time), 82 TD catches (28th all time). Realistically neither one has any shot at making the HoF and neither one should but Rivers has the better numbers.

Honest question. Is McDaniels any good? He's literally been horrible in every other system that doesn't have Tom Brady.....

I think he would be a good oc still depending on the qb capabilities

I really thought before Lamar took over and caught lightening in a bottle that John Harbaugh was on his way out after 4/5 Playoff misses with Josh McDaniel was on his way in potentially. This is the closest situation to what he had with Belichick. Very similar FO's, team philosophy, etc. We'll never know. I do think he is a coach that would serve Lamar well. Everywhere else he's been has been with sub-par QB's and no where near the kind of franchise make-up as the Ravens.

Don't think the Raiders fire him, tho. Maybe, but there are stories about the Raiders being cash poor - how that's possible after moving to LV is unknown to me. Trade JH for Josh straight up? Yep. Done deal for me.

I was arguing that saying someone is "alpha" is not a compliment for them as a player. The best WR in the NFL right now does not have that "alpha" streak. CK just plays the game and does it very well. Hopkins is much the same way. The theory that you have to be OBJ or AB to be a great WR is nonsense.

Also Hollywood was by far the number 1 WR when he was here. Boldin had the better career but we did not get year 1 Boldin or even year 5 Boldin; we got year 8-10 Boldin who was still very good but not better than Hollywood.

I don't think the Raiders will fire him either. Not because he deserves another year, but because they can't afford to pay Gruden, McDaniels and a a new coach.

Cooper Kupp is not the best WR in the league.

Hollywood had nobody that could challenge him here. Bateman could have but he was hurt and we never got to see them play together. Andrews is number 1 if we are talking pecking order

Boldin had down years with us before having 2 very good seasons with SF. As a matter of fact both players played for the Ravens for 3 years. Hollywood had 1 very good season before being traded. Q came up big every time we went to him, especially in playoff games.

Boldin was open even if he had a CB hanging on him
